The beautiful spring weather onthe weekend was enjoyed byeveryone I’m sure. It was a shock
back to reality on Monday morning
when a very cold wind was blowing.
Winter weather is still here and will
be for awhile.
Our condolences to the Dalton
family on the passing of Dorothy
Dalton. She will be missed by her
children Carl (Kelly) and Kathy and
their families. Dorothy and her late
husband Bob were regular cardplayers around the area and she willbe missed by all.
We are pleased to report that
Howard Hackwell is home from the
hospital. He is doing better and
daughter Patricia was home for the
weekend to help organize the house.
Margery Huether is now at
Victoria Hospital. She will be there
for awhile again and we hope she is
doing better all the time.
Stewart Steiss is a patient inListowel Hospital. We hope he isimproving and they are getting to the
root of his problems.
The ongoing work at the Winthrop
corner goes on. They dig some dirt,
they move some dirt, they dig some
more, truck some dirt and dig some
more. It really doesn’t look like
things change much from day to day,
but the dirt gets moved around a lot.
One of these days it will be done.
The Cranbrook darts had more
players attending the evening of fun.
One of the new darters was very
lucky and captured the high score of
the evening. The lucky Rita Bowers
hit 109 and Nathan Klingenberg also
hit 109.

Congrats to all!
The snow last week has reminded
me to mention about snow around
mailboxes in the country. Don’t
forget when you are cleaning your
laneways to do around the boxes.
The mail person doesn’t want to get
stuck and if they can’t get to the box,
they don’t want to not deliver the
mail. Things go much smoother
when everyone does there part.
Flu, flu and more flu. It seems that
almost everyone you talk to, has had
the flu or someone in their home has
had the flu. The Huron County
Health Unit reports that you can still
get your flu shot if you didn’t get it
earlier.
The McDonald family celebrated

down time at home.
The Grade 2/3 class sounded very
energetic so I presume they like
being back. I talked with Darcie and
Marley, they, too wanted more time
with family. They enjoyed the break
and their holiday. Now on to Grade
3C. Andrew said the break was way
too short but he liked it.
In Grade 4/5 class, William liked
coming back to school. On the
holidays he went snowmobiling
when the snow was deeper. Have a
good time everyone and I will be
back next week.

This week at Hullett Central Public
School, the students are back and
keen to share what they did over the
Christmas holidays. In the Grade 5/6
class, Ben Kolkman went sledding
and played with his cousin. He loved
the holidays but couldn’t wait to get
back to school. In the Grade 7 class,
Quinn Driscoll went skiing with his
family at White Face Mountain. He
said that it was a blast and they had
lots of snow. In the Grade 7/8 class,
Samantha Kerr had a very exciting
holiday. She got her grandma a
puppy, it is a Shorkie Poo. She thinks
it is the cutest thing in the world. She
also got a new karaoke machine and
she plays and sings on it every day.
She even sang Gangnam style with
her sister. All the kids were excited
when all the snow came down and
there is a hill outside in the yard.
Every day each Grade 4-8 gets a turn
on the hill. It has been a short week
but I will see you later.

During recess last Thursday at North Woods Elementary School, students made the most of
the snow that was left on the ground by trying to make the biggest snow-boulders they could.
Shown around a fledgling snow-rock of a snow-boulder are, from left, Adelle Kerr, Lily
Armstrong, Keely Chauvin and Nicole Alexander. (Denny Scott photo)
