Every year the Huron County 4-H
Leaders’ Association takes one
afternoon to recognize and honour
the 4-H members who have reached
milestones in their 4-H careers.
The Seaforth Agriplex in Seaforth
was the site of last year’s annual
awards program, taking place in late
November, 2012.
Approximately 200 4-H leaders,
volunteers, 4-H members, parents,
award sponsors and presenters
gathered that day and over the two-
hour program, just over 100 awards
were presented to various 4-H
members and 4-H clubs. Four
graduating members were
recognized for their achievement,
with one of them completing 63
clubs, the highest in Huron County.
Achievements from the judging
competition, Seaforth Fair, project
books, Animal and Life Skill club
completions etc. were all noted and
celebrated. Several leaders were also
recognized for their one-,
five-, 10- and 25-year volunteering
milestones.
During the program a 50/50 draw
and a silent auction were held with
the proceeds going to the 4-H
program in Huron County.
Refreshments of cookies, water,
juice and coffee were also served.
Overall, the program ran smoothly
and the weather was mild with no
threat of snow or ice, which made
for a great turnout.
