Holds Social Evening The Young People’s Union of the United Church held their social meet ing on Monday evening with Miss Elva McQueen presiding and com menced the- program with the sing ing of "It Came Upon the Midnight Clear” and “Angels From the Realms of Gldry”, followed by the Lord’s Prayer • in unison. Audrey Walsh sang a solo entitled “Walk ing in a Winter Wonderland”, Ed na Walsh accompanying at the piano. Lepore Norminton favored with a reading entitled “Advice”, A vocal Salo, “Give of Your Best to the Master”, by Rev. Brook was much enjoyed. Miss Gladys Lukei’ accompanied at the piano. A series of Christmas carols followed With Gladys Luker at the piano. Bob Hess Cohdilcted several contests’. Light refreshments were served with Miss Gladys McKenzie aS Convener. James Sangster Passes Suddenly * A shadow of gloom was cast over the community -on Christmas eve upon hearing of the sudden death of James gangster in his 40th year. Glenn, Kippen, was the setting of a pretty wedding at 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon, Decem ber 26, when Helen Cavelle, elder daughter of Mr* and Mrs. George A. Glenn, Hensall, became the bride of Morley C. Sanders, ,B,A„ son of Mrs. E. M. Sanders, Richmond Hill, and principal of Hensall Continua tion School, The ceremony was per formed by Rev. R. A. Brook, of Hen sall United Church. Miss Florence Welsh, of Hensall, was at the piano throughout the service and during the signing of the register Carey Joynt, Hensall, sang “Because”. The bride; given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length gown of white chenille embroidered satin, designed with a sweetheart neckline, long pointed sleeves, fitted bodice and a bouffant skirt. Her finger tip veil of white illusion was draped from orange blossoms, white rose buds and forget-me-nots caught at the side of her head. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses and wore pearls, the gift of the groom. Mrs. W. D. Glenn, Kippen, sister-in- law of the bride, was the only at tendant, frocked in a floor-length gown of white sheer. She wore a Grecian halo and carried a ribbon bouquet of deep red roses. John Scott, Pickering College, was grooms man. Mrs. Glenn, mother Of the bride, received with the bridal couple, wearing a Burgundy crepe gown with a corsage of Talisman roses. Mrs. Sanders, .mother of the bridegroom, assisted, wearing a dress of black silk velvet and her corsage was of Talisman roses. After the wedding dinner the bride donned a Queen’s blue two-piece crepe dress trimmed with royal purple bows, a black coat with silver fox trim and a hand-made blue ribbon hat trim ed with royal purple. Rink and Queen’s blue flowers completed her ensemble. On their return from their honeymoon the bride and groom will reside in Hensall. Guests were present from Richmond Hill, Stoffville, Weston, Baltimore, Cooks- town, Newmarket, St. Anne de Belle- via, Toronto and Hensall.
