First Form of the Exeter High School has been closed for this week owing to the illness of one of the pupils with scarlet fever. Pte. Howard J. Elliot, who has befen confined to -his home here through illness, reported Wednes­ day to the R.'C.O.C, at London. Mr. W. J. Heaman and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Heaman, of London, vis­ ited with Mr. and Mrs. George Wright and Mrs. Skelton on Sunday. Mrs. Hubert Cooper and Mrs. Lome Johnston were in London last Friday attending the fiuneral of the late Mrs. Perrett, a former resident of Exeter. Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Rolfe, manager of the Bell Tele­ phone Company of Canada. Approximately 26,000 feet of new cable will be erected to the school, providing facilities for a private branch exchange, teletype and tele­ graph service, and lines for public telephones to be installed for the use of the airmen. Direct connection will also be provided from the Centralia Airport to the associated! landing field at Grand Bond.
