Bonthi'on, who is ill in the General Hospital in Hanover, in the death of her moth- ■er, Mrs. Yungblut, who passed away Saturday in her 89th year at tHe home of her daughter, Mrs. N« Peppier, Hanover. The deceased was favourably known, in Hensall having spent the past few winters at the home of Mrs. J. - W. Bon- throp, Surviving are three sons, Andrew, of British Columbia, Wil­ liam, in the West and Wesley, of Hamilton; and three daughters, Mrs, J. W. Bonthron, Hensall; Mrs. Hall, McKee’s Rock, Pa., and Mrs. N. Peppier, Hanover. Elizabeth Eilber Mrs, Elizabeth Eilber, wife Henry Eilber, ©x-M.L-A., of Credi- ton, passed away on Sunday, Octo­ ber 26th, after an illness of several months at the age of S3 years and 6 months, Mrs. Eilber was born in Crediton and lived here all her life. She was of Swiss descent, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Krattiger, who were among the .early settlers of this place. She was a valued member’ of the Evangel­ ical Church and interested in all its activities. Mr., and Mrs. Eil'ber observed their sixtieth wedding an­ niversary on November 23rd of last year. Suriviving are her husband, one son, (Herbert K. Eilber, a granddaughter, Mrs. Ward Fritz, Zurich, and one great grand­ daughter. Dashwood Evangelical Mission Circle entertained the Zurich and Crediton Mission Circles on Tues­ day night. The program was giv­ en by Zurich Circle and the social part by Crediton. Refreshments were served by the Dashwood group. The .anriiversary services in the Evangelical church were splendidly attended, th© 'church being comfort­ ably filled. The front -of the church arid pulpit were beautifully decor­ ated with flowers. SHIPKA Miss Nola Sweitzer left for Lon­ don last Saturday to join the nurs­ ing staff at Vitoria Hospital. Mr. and MrsrE. Keyes visited on Shnday with Mrs. Wesley Jones, of Crediton. She had the misfortune to fall as she was going down some steps and suffered two broken ribs and shock. Her friends hope for a recovery soon. We are sorry to report that Miss Bessie McCurdy was taken to Vic­ toria Hospital, ■London, last Sat­ urday. We hope she will speedily recover. Mr. David Stephens spent the week-end in Toronto. Some from here attended the Elimville anniversary last 'Sunday and others attended Zion anniver­ sary on .the Mitchell Road and spent the day with friends. There were no church here last Sunday owing to anniver­ sary services at Zion on the Mitchell Road. Next Sunday, Novembex’ 2nd, anniversary services will be held at Kirkton United Church and oux* Sunday services will again be with­ drawn. On Friday evening, October -31st, the Mission E^nd will hold an en­ tertainment in the basement of the church. Come dressed in your Hal­ lowe’en attire and beware of spooks. Kirk attended the Wo- ilnen’s Institute convention held at the Hotel London, on Tuesday, Wed­ nesday and Thursday of this week. Mrs^ Jas. Gardiner, Sr., cele­ brated her 8 2nd birthday this past week and served afternoon tea to a number of old friends. Mr. * Reg. Paul spent the week- end with Mr. and Mrs. Don McRea, of Sudbury. While gathering eggs*at the farm of Mr. John Cluff this past week, Mrs. Cluff discovered an egg with a marking in the shape of a letter “V”. Those that have seen it “seeing is believing”.
