Lewis of the Exeter Ma­ sonic lodge visited the Goderich lodge on Monday evening, the oc­ casion being the official visit of Rt. Wor. Bro. H. B. M. Tichbourne, D.D.G.M. to his home lodge. James St. Group Meeting Group No. 4, of the James W.A. met at the home of Mrs. D. A. Anderson on Wednesday after­ noon, ■ Feb. 26th. The time was spent in sewing quilt blocks. Mrs. Page read a poem 'entitled “The Times Are Speaking*’, after which the daily prayer was repeated. Mrs. Anderson gave a talk on “Recipe for Beauty’’, to a dose with the committee charge serving a dainty lunch. st. The afternoon came in Trivitt W.A. The W.A. of Trivitt Memorial Church met. at the home of Mrs. Acheson with a fair attendance. The meeting opened with litany and prayers. The scripture was read responsively led by the president, Mrs. Bierling. The roll call was answered by a Bible verse contain­ ing the word “sacrifice”. The min­ utes of the last meeting were read and adopted and the treasurer’s re­ port was given, It was moved and seconded that all ’Outstanding bills be paid. Mrs. Heywood gave a very intererestlng reading, “Called of Christ*’. Miss bo way read an In­ spiring message, “Forward in Faith and Hope”. Miss McTaggart read an interesting article on “Erom the West, a New China**, The meeting closed with the National Anthem, the call tn nraver And the benedic­ tion. ... includingJames St. W. A. Group 2 of James St. W.A., under the convenership of Mrs. Rowcliffe, met last Wednesday at the home of Mrs. (Dr.) H. Cowen. The after­ noon was spent in patching a quilt and arranging the next meeting to be held on March 27th at 3 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Kyle. Tea was served by the hostess assisted by a committee. Caven W.M.Sjk .The monthly meeting of the So­ ciety was held on February 27th at the home Of Mrs. R. G. Seldon. In the absence of the president, Mrs. Gladman, through illness, the vice- president, Mrs. E. Pollen had charge of the meeting. After the usual opening exercises Mrs. E. Johnston took the devotional period. The us­ ual business was transacted and the several reports of the various committees given and acted on. The program for the day consisted of topics on “World Missions’* and “A World Church” The former was taken by Mrs. Kathleen Fuke and the latter a paper prepared by Mrs. Wm. Sillery, and in her absence was read by Mrs. C. Cann and com­ mented on. Mrs. D. c. Jilll gave current events. A brief glimpse of the splendid Work of the dea­ conesses and port workers under the supervision of the W.M.S, was giv­ en in meeting boats, and trains at both our east and west ports in the interests of the Master’s, work.
