At Lodge Session
The December meeting of
the Huronic Rebekah Lodge
was held last Monday and ab-
out 30 members from the Br-
ussels lodge, who opened and
closed the meeting, attended.
Other guests were Mrs. Ma-
tilda MacDonald, Fort William,
president of the Rebekah As-
sembly 'of Ontario and Mrs.
Amos Osbaldeston, Goderich,
District Deputy President.
These two guests were intro-
duced, by Mrs. George Beat to
and Mrs. Orrin Dowson and
Noble Grand Mrs. Abe Orpen
pinned' a lovely corsage on
each.
The Rebekah Degree was
conferred on two new mem-
bers, Mrs, Charles Hutchins,
and Mrs. 3. B, Nicholson, both
of Clinton.
Mrs, Amos Osbaleston pres-
ented the Assembly President,
Mrs. MacDonald, with a gift
from 'the district.
Draws were won by Mrs.
Wes Holland, Mrs. N. Allen,
Mr. Cook, Mrs. Bert Rowden
and Mr. Amos Osbaldeston.

Mrs. Stewart Middleton Was
hostess for the 'annual meeting
of 'the Women's Auxiliary' of
St. James Anglican Church,
Middleton, last Wednesday aft-
ernoon.
The president, Mrs, Ray Wise
opened 'the meeting with a
timely' poem, "Let Us Keep
Christmas" and the scripture
was read by Mrs. Ed Wise.
Following prayers, the minut-
es were read by Mrs. John
Grigg.
Roll call was answered by a
verse with the word "worship"
in it. In spite of a sudden bliz-
zard and bad roads, 16 mem-
bers and one visitor were pres-
ent.
The secretary read a thank-
you note from Mrs, Steepe and
also a letter from the - Goder-
ich paper requesting' articles
useable for hobbies of Ontario
Hospital patients.
Articles requested are used
card's and wrapping paper, ny-
lons, costume jewellery, yarn,
quilt patches, etc. The presi-
dent 'asked the members to
bring these donations to the
January meeting.
Mrs. Wise also expressed her
thanks to the committee in
charge of the last social even-
ing and 'to Stewart and. Grace
Middleton for putting on the
Lloyd A. Keys,
Stanley Native
A veteran of the First World
War, Lloyd Alvin Keys, Varna,
passed away at his home after
a lengthy illness on Saturday,
December 7.
He was in 'his 67th year and
had been a life-long resident
of Stanley Township, retiring
from 'his farm to Varna.
He belonged to Varna Un-
ited Church and was also a
member of the Loyal Orange
Lodge, No. 1035, Varna, and
RBP No. 1025.
The deceased is survived by
his wife, the former Laura Mc-
Clinehey; three sons, Alvin, at
home; Keith and Clayton, Cl-
inton; one brother, Roy, Stan-
ley Township; three grand-
children, Brian, Brenda and
Laurie Keys.,
The funeral was conducted
on Monday from the Ball and
Mutch funeral 'home by Rev.
Murdoch Morrison, Varna,
Interment was in Baird's
cemetery, Stanley Township
and Frank McClinchey, Char-
les Reid, Watt Webster, Or-
rin Dawson, Russell Erratt
and Fred McClymont were
pallbearers.
Acting as flower bearers
were Mervin Hayter, Glen
Dowson, Wilfred Chuter, Mer-
vin Johnston, Alex Murray,
Harold Connell and Mel Web-
ster.
Friends and relatives were
present from Port Huron, Lis-
towel, Weston, Hensall, God-
erich, Grand Bend, London,
Windsor, Exeter, Seaforth, Zur-
ich and Kitdhener.

Mrs, Joseph Storey gave a
lovely piano instrumental of
"The Bells of St. Marys" with
variations and Mrs. John Grigg
gave a splendid secretarial re-
port for 'the past year and st-
ated that the average attend-
ance had been 12.3 persons.
The 'treasurer's report was
presented by Mrs. Alvin Dutot;
the Dorcas by Mrs. Arnold
Miller. Mrs. Jack Cole reported
as card convener and Mrs. D.
Deeves for the birthday box.
Mrs. Ed Wise read a lovely
poem "Our Country Church is
all Alight"; particularly ap-
propriate a few days before the
Sunday School concert.
It was decided to donate $10
to the Sunday School and the
following monies were also
voted: to the church wardens
and treasurer of the church,
$150.00; to the faithful organ-
ist, Mrs. Joseph Storey, $25.00
and to the fireman, Mr. Fred
Middleton $5.00.
Mrs. Wise then thanked the
ladies for "their splendid co-
operation during her two years
as president and vacated the
chair, calling on the Rev. E.
J. B. Harrison to conduct the
election of officers.
Mr. Harrison also voiced his
appreciation of the efforts of
this faithful group which ex-
emplify love, service and good
fellowship and the members all
show concern for the welfare
of the church.
"There is wonderful harm-
ony and Christian fellowship
here," stated Mr. Harrison.
Mrs. Arnold Miller present-
ed Mr. Harrison with the nom-
inating committee's slate of of-
ficers. This report was accept-
ed unanimously, Officers for
1964 are:

Use Icing Sugar To Produce Replica of Church
One of the highlights of the annual Christmas bazaar staged recently by
