Woman Dies
In Detroit
Mrs, Maude • Gibson passed
away fallowing a lengthy Ilines$
at the .Callahan Nursling Home,
Detroit, on Tuesday, November
9 at the age of 81 years,
Mrs. Gibson was the former
Maude lVfeDougall, daughter of
the late Donald Stewart Mc-
Dougall and Mary Ann Morgan
of Goderich Township. She at,
tended school at Porters Hill.
At the age of 17, the de-
ceased moved to Detroit where
she married David William
Gibson on August 5, 1908, He
died in 1958. She Was a charter
and life member of Marysville
Chapter 451 Eastern Star and
a member of Highland Park
Shrine 25 in Highland Park,
the Salvation Army Auxiliary
and the . Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two dau-
ghters:, Mrs. Jack (Gladys')
McCullough of Toronto and
Mrs. Tony (Jessie) Catalina of
Boise, Idaho; five sons, Roy of
Sidney, 'B.C., Douglas of Grade-
riCh, Wallace of Londeshoro,
Bruce of Stratford and William
of Toronto.
Funeral service. was from the
Stiles Funeral Home, Goderich,
with Rev. G. L. Royal officiat-
ing. Interment was in Maitland
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Theron Bot-
tles, Seaforth; Allan Betties,
Goderich Township; Cyril Proc-
tor and Donald McDougall,
both of Goderich; Murray Mc-
Dougall, Holmesville; and Dan-
ny .Colquhoun, Clinton,

Gordon Wren is a patient in
South Huron Hospital, Exeter.
He suffered a heart attack last
Thursday morning,
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Carter of
Welland visited over the week-.
end with Mrs. Carter's parents,
Mr, and Mrs, Nelson Hood.

Trinidad Topic
The November meeting of
Nippen United Church Women
Was held with 15 ladies pre-
sent, Mrs. John Anderson took
the worship with the theme for
Remembrance Day "Lest we
forget".
The topic on Trinidad was
introduced by Mrs. Faber, the
president, with Mrs. H. Jones,
Mrs. E. Kyle, and Mrs. T. W.
Reid relating 'the message with
the aid of pictures and papers
right from Trinidad.
Mrs. Gerald Moffatt played
a selection of songs to fit in
With the Trinidad theme.
The hostess was Mrs. G.
Workman.

their children, Michel, Chantal
and Julie, have moved to RCAF
Station St. John's, Quebec. Two
farewell coffee parties were
held for Mrs. Ouellet last week.
One was at the home of M.
A. Fisdher •and the other at the
home of Mrs. R. George.

and their families packed the
RCAF' Clinton Physical Centre
the night 'of November 10 to
enjoy the CBC "Gordie Tapp"
Show,
Part of the evenings enter-
tainment was taped for a coast,
to-coast CBC Remembrance
Day programme that was pre-
sented on. November 11.
Gordie Tapp, star of the show
is a "local boy" and spent a
great deal of the after-shaw
time renewing acquaintances
With old friends. Al ChernY,
American Fiddle Champion,
and an ex-Wingharn resIklent,
was.just as busy,
In addition to these two star
performers, 'the Ila,mes Sisters,
Wally Koster, The Rhythm
Pals, the Lounsbury Sisters. and
Agota Gabor, the "Go-Go" gal,
thrilled the rollicking crowd
Bert Niosi and his Band pro-
vided their bouncy beat as a
musical background.
The big Show as presented by
CBC Radio, had Ken Dalziel as
producer.

Best Bazaar Ever
The United Church. Women
hold their pre-Obelistmas bazaar
on Wednesday afternoon and
members see it as a record
breaking success.
Rev. C. Park, minister of the
church, opened the bazaar and
Mrs. C. Park and Mrs. L. Bond
welcomed guests at the door.
The well laden bake table
was attended by Mrs. B. Wal-
ter, Mrs. H. Williams, Mrs.
Ginn, Mrs. Heard, Mrs. Far-
quhar and Mrs. J, Tebbutt.
Mrs. MaoMath, Mrs. Huller
and Mrs. W. Johnson were in
charge of the - home produce
booth. Sewing, erribrbidery
work, cocheting and knitting
was in the charge of Mrs. R.
Miller, Mrs. E. Potter and Mrs.
Yeo.
The Christmas booth, com-
plete with gaily decorated tree
was attended by Mrs. E. Grigg
and Mrs. F. Cantelon. Mrs. Ray
Potter and-Mrs. G. Blake tend-
ed the Messenger's candy booth.

Harris Was assisted by Mrs,
Cuclmore, Mrs. Whiteley, Mrs.
L. Jervis, Mrs. D. Gliddon, Mrs.
C. Tebbutt and Miss Rota Yeo.
The kitchen operations were

Mrs. Bender; Mrs. E. Yeo, Mrs.
J, Lobb, Mrs, W. Yea, Mrs. I.
