Clinton Stouts To Convoss
Clinton Boy Scouts have teamed up with. the

rophy campaign. Together they hope to far surpass
last year's sum of $137.53; in addition to the
regular canisters placed with •merchants about
town, the Boy Scouts will conduct a house-to-house

The Preparation Is Half The Fun
When the curtain goes up on the Pegasus
Players production of "See How They Run" it
should be a riotious evening of fun fof theatre-
goers judging from the faces of these three cast
members hard at work during rehearsal. They
are, left to right, Bill Poppenk, Diane Lobb and
Trudy. Kingvvell. The three-act comedy will run
for three nights, November 21, 22, 23, at RCAF

Ford Motor Company of Can-

the estimation of 48 CHSS stu-
dents and two' teachers who
accompanied them last Friday
on a personalized tour of the
Windsor plant.
Six students in G. Leeson's
machine shop, reported with
enthusiasm to the News-Rec-
ord's staff interviewer the par-
ticular interest shown them by
senior Chrysler personnel dur-
ing their visit.
Jeff Dixon, Mervyn Erb, Tom
Morgan, Wayne Peachey, Mike
Rau and Fred Trewertha each
volunteered- information about
the trip.
"Five engineers were taken
off their jobs to Show us ar-
ound,” said one boy. "Chrysler
does not have tours of the
plant ordinarily, but they made
an exception for us."
Mr. Leeson 'also 'spoke in ap-
preciation of Chrysler's atten-
tion to details in planning for
the greatest value possible out
of the tour. "The than. phoned
the school) about six times dur-
ing the planning stages," he
said.
Public relations man for
Chrysler, Mr..Wachna weicom-
ea the bus load of boys, es-
corted them to a conference
room Where they were issued
with safety glasses and met
the guides who took them
through the plant.
From the drafting room
where plant layout is designed
through the No. 2 plant, the
group toured for almost two
hours.
The boys remarked upon the
large size of the buildings and
the bicycles used by personnel,
to get about. Fork lifts used
to move equipment operated
steadily in buildings so large
that exhaust was no problem,
At three o'clock they lunched
in the plant cafeteria and then
for two more hours were in
session with eight more Chrys-
ler staffmen. "They were sen-
ior people, too," said one of
the boys, "not just PR types."
Speakers were Mr. Shaw,
manager of communications
and Personnel development.
Mr. Lapsley, apprentice train-
ing co-ordinator and Mr, Freel,
personnel development co-or-
dinator.
Thew talked about need for
education and after high school
they advised a degree in en-
gineering. Chrysler encourag-
es its staff to better themselves
and pays, tuition fees at night
school for any employee who
wishes to continue education.
The boys heard of the great
shortage 'of skilled help in the
trade's and the continuing need
for 'capable people. They re-
ported lots of time for ques-
tfons---"and those —men knew
the answers to everything,"
Said one.

I'm sick and tiled of having
so many American shows on:
smart American soldier shows

I think it is time the CBC
