Walton Boys Compete at International
Representing Huron County in the Inter-
County plowing -competitions at the International
Plowing Match. in Milliken, Ont., last weelc were,
left to right, Graeme Craig and Jack McCall, both
of Walton. Competing for over $900 in prize money
provided by British American Oil, sponsor of the
event, the Huron team placed 11th and won a
total of $30. The B-A 'trophy and first prize of
$150 was won ;by the Haldimand county team.

Mr. Sauve went on to tell
how prosperous Canada has
been in the past years; under
his ,Liberal government. "Un-
employment rhas dropped sharp-
ly since 1963," he pointed out,
"and we have adopted a new
Canadian flag, thanks to the
courage of Prime Minister Les-
ter B. Pearson."
The speaker also summarized
the new agricultural program
of the Liberal party, expiain-
ing that they hope to introduce

speaking on behalf of Huron
• Liberal, candidate Malt Edgar,
last Thursday night, in the St.
Joseph Parish Hall, told a gath-
ering of upwards of 200 that
the most important problem
facing Canadians today is the
relations between, the French-
speaking and English-speaking
people.
Mr. Sauve charged that Con-
servative leader John Dieten,
baker is ignoring Quebec, and
that is causing disunity in the
Conservative ranks. "Mn Diet-
enbaker is no longer a power
in Quebec.," -he added. "Separ-
atism is now a forgotten issue,
thanks to the co-operation of
. the federal government and the
government of Quebec Premier
Jean Lesage."

the Women's Missionary Soc-
iety of Knox Presbyterian Ch,.

gentlemen from Knox United
Church, St, Mark's Anglican
Church and Westfield attended
this evening meeting.
Mr. Munnings' showed pic-
tures or India and told about
the work they were doling there
in winning the world for Christ.
Mrs. 1VAmming wore an attrac-
tive sari to show the native
dress.
The president, Mrs. Sander-
son was in charge of the meet-
ing. After the call to worship,
Mrs. Alvin Leatherland read
the scripture lesson and the
meditation on stewardship was
given by Mrs. Wes Bradnock,
The Martini. Trio of -Clinton
provided -special music select-
ions with accordion -accompani-
ment.
Mrs. .Sanderson read an in-
vitation to attend the Knox
United Church UCW special
meeting on October 27 when
Mr.- -Craven of Gaderich, the
probation officer, will be the
guest speaker.
A social hour followed in the
Sunday school room where
lunch was served under the
convenershiP of Mrs. Alvin
Leatherlancl assisted by other
members.

the candidate, Malt Edgar, to

"Huron has been badly neglect-
ed over the years, but We have
a good young candidate, full of
vim and vigor."
Mr. Edgar painted out two
reasons he feels should encour-
age the people to elect a Ub.
eral gaverinnent. 'First of all,
we have had ecorioinie success
in Canada like we have never
before had," he said, "and see-
ondly, the promises Of Mr.
Pearson regarding medicare
and tarot policy Should please
everyone."
The candidate also spoke
