received word last Thursday
morning that he has success-
fully completed the full
course 'in hospital" adminis-
tration and will be awarded
the certificate for which,. -he
has been studying during- the
past two years. •
The course encompasses
all phases of hospital or- ,
gaitization and management.
Mr. Steep wrote 14 papers
in each of the two winter
correspondence courses he
took, and a final examine,
ten last summer and one
again this summer when he
'attended the month-long ses-
sions at the University of
Manitoba._
Mr. Steep 'began his career
as a secretary-treasurer at
Clinton 'hospital in February
of 1960, and has the &Stint--
ton of being the fhlst admin-
istrator here who was not a
professional. 0
From 1958 to 1964 public
spending in Canada -on element-
ary and secondary education
rose from $956 million to $2,-
049 million.

The fourth meeting of the
Tuckerbells 4-H gardening' club
Was held at the home of Mrs,
Sandra Pepper on June 29.
The meeting was' opened by
president Janet Falconer and
Jenny Stryker read the min-
utes. •
The roll calf was answered

Mrs. Pepper and Mrs. Town-

'Firefighters' Earn Awaid •
Allan were 'recently presented
with retirement certificates,
having worked at RCAF Clin-
ton for a combined 23-year
Period,
Mr. Paterson was born in
Alva, Scotland, and came to
Canada in June 1925. He Oper-
ated own service station at
Brumfield until July, 1954, at
which time he came to Clinton
to Work as a mess-man. He has
two son's and one daughter and
plans to retire to Brumfield
where his wife operates a gen-
eral Store.
Mr. Allan, who was born in
Tucker'smith Township and has
lived in this area all, his life,
new resides with his wife at
RR /1 Brumfield: He commenc-
ed work at Station Clinton as
a rnessrnan on March 5,

1953.
Later the same year he was
re-assigned as -a cleaning ser-
vice man and' then. in 1960 he
Was appointed to a supervisor
Position.
