First, it sets a standard 8 hour day and a 40 hour week,
with overtime limited to 8 hours a week, and paid for at
time-and-a4lalf.
Second, it sets the minimum wage rate for all men and
women over 17 years of age at $1.25' an hour.
Next, it provides for two weeks annual vacation with pay,

GODERICH — "One of the
main concerns" of Huron Cam.:
ty Council's property commit-
tee of late has been the prob-
lem created by Goderieh's two-
hour parking restriction, county
councillors were told at Opening
of the. June session by deputy
reeve Elmer Hayter, of Stanley,
chairman. '
"YoUr committee," the report
stated, "was petitioned by' the
employees in the courthouse and
registry office; bath provincial
and county; 'in turn the request
was forwarded to the town of
Goderieh asking for some. con-,
sideration regarding parking in
the immediate area of the
courthouse. We have been ad-
,vised that the matter had been
held in.abeyance by the town
council for at least two months.
"We have also been concerned
about people doting business tin
the courthouse and those having
to appear in courts, particular-
when called as jurors: We
have considered making a park-
ing area behind the registry
office, but this has not been
finalized in any way."
'Chan-Man: Hayter wondered
how parking had worked out
during the preceding week, .dur-
ing court session, attended by a
large jury panel and many wit-
nesses.,
Reeve Stewart - Procter of.
mentioned that MorriS
and East Wawanosh council
members had been. in. town one
day the previous week, when
a policeman enquired about the
ownership of the cars and "pas-
sed them by." He expressed ap-
preciation to the police -depart;
tnent.
The property report announc-
ed and arranged to store His-,
torical' Society records in -.part
of the new' addition of the mu-
seum, now "progressing favor-,
ably."
New Councillor
'Clerk-treasurer J. G. Berry
administered the. oath of office
of the new deputy reeve of
flawick, Harold Robinson, Dep-
uty reeve Robert Gibson steeped
up to the office Of reeve when
Ivan Haskins, long-tune occu-
pant, accepted a paid position.
Warden Glenn Webb noted
that since last. session the
death had occurred of J. A.
Sutter, former deputy reeve of
Clinton; "a valued member of
this council, who performed
much public service to Clinton."
