AUBURN — Bouquets of yel-
low daffodils and blue stream-
ers made an attractive setting
in the Dungannon United Ch-
urch Sunday school room when
the Auburn Women's Institute
held their annual Sunshine Sis-
ters banquet, Sixty members
and friends attended the ban-
quet ,served by the members of
the Dungannon. Women's Insti-
tute.
The president, Mrs. Donald
Haines, welcomed all to the
banquet. Mrs. Bert Craig, past
president, proposed a toast to
the Women's Institute and Mrs.
Thomas Haggitt replied.
Greetings from Mrs.' Trivors,
the proVincial president and the
FWIO Board were brought by
Mrs. Wes Bradnock.
The lucky ticket was held by
Ed. Stiles and Mrs. Thomas
Lawlor presented him with a
gift. The lucky saucer was held
by Mrs. Fordyce Clark and Mrs.
Robert Turner presented her
with a gift, Mrs. Roy Daer won
the elimination contest con-
ducted by Mrs. Lloyd Humph-
reys who alsoo• presented a gift.
William Styles sang several
solos accompanied by his father,
Ed. Stiles, Goderich. who played
several solo piano selections.
Mrs. Robert 1 Phillips intro-
duced the guest speaker of the
evening, Mrs. Raymond Red-
mond, Goderich. She gave an
interesting report of her work
at the Goderich Ontario Hos-
pital where she works ,as an
occupational therapist.
She stressed that hope and
the Christian faith spurs every-
one 'to help these people to ad-
just and to understand mental
illness. Mrs. Redmond thanked
groups -for their interest in
bringing ,entertainment and
gifts for Christmas and birth-
days. She invited all to attend
the Open House on May 2 and
May 5.
Mrs. Frank Raithby thanked
Mrs. Redmond and, on behalf
of the Branch, presented her
with a gift.
A quartette composed of Mrs.
Ed. Davies, Mrs. Gordon Cham-
ney, Mrs. Gordon Taylor and
Mrs. Wes Bradnock wearing
comic costumes sang, "The hus-
bands of the Members of the
WI", accompanied by Mrs.
George Million.
In a short business period,
the Branch decided ,to send a
donation to the International
scholarship fund and members
spoke of the leather course
which they are sponsoring.
MS. Jack Hallam thanked
the Dungannon ladies for the
banquet and Mrs. Clifford Cro-
zier replied. All Sunshine Sis-
ters revealed their sister's name
and presented her with a gift.
Plans for the banquet were
made by Mrs. Lloyd Humph-
reys, Mrs, Thomas Lawlor and
Mrs. RObert Turner.
