pliques. The wateau train fell
from. the Waist, Her elboW
length, bouffant veil was held
by a waxed floral crown and
she 'carried a white Bible creat-

Attending the bride were
her site, Mrs. Everett Thomp-
son, Walkerton, as matron of
honor, her sister-in-law, Mrs.
Douglas Batkin, Port Loring,
and her cousin, Miss Ruth Ann
Batkin, Clinton, as bridesmaids.
They were gowned alike in
street length .dresses of tur-
quoise .blue georgette over taf-
fetta featuring puffed long slee-
ves. Their headdresses were

vention of H.ome Economics
section of •the Ontario Educa-
tional Association Which Was
held at the Westbury Hotel,
Toronto, April 19 to 21.
The cenvention began on
Monday evening at the Constel-
lation Hotel with a, "Festival of
Fashion and Food". -
On Tuesday, at the Westbury
Hotel, the speakers were Dr.
George Beaton, head of the De-
partmentlof Hygiene at the Un-
iversity of Toronto, speaking on
"Current World Nutrition Prob-
lems"; and Dr. El.izabeth Ch'ant
Rbbertson, clinical consultant
for the Hospital for Sick Child-
ren, Toronto, speaking on "Food,
Health. and Economy",
On Wednesday, the teachers
heard,about the "Disadvantaged
Child" from Mr. W. 3. Quinn,
Principal of Alexander Muir
Public School, Toronto.
The program on Wednesday
included a, tour of a public
housing project, Regent Park
(North) given by Mr. Robert B.
Bradley, Executive Director of
the Housing Authority of Tor-
onto; or a. demonstration of the
effective use of sniall appliances
in the classroom given by Miss
Elizabeth Wilson of the Ontario
Hydro,
They wore turquoise shoes and .
white gloves and cerried cres- -
eents' of white pompom. 'mums.
Flower girl was a cousin of
the groom, Miss Marna Collins, '
Stratford and Phillip Cook,
Ingersoll, was the ringbearer,
Ralph Glew„ Clinton, was the
grammarian, while Dangles Bait -
kin, Port Loring, brother of
the bride, and Brian Rutledge,
Brussels, cousin of the groom,
ushered. •
• For a reception in the audi-
torium of the church, the
bride's mother received guests
in a navy blue dress with navy
and white accessories and a cor-
sage of pink carnations. The
groom's mother chose a heaven-
ly blue shantung gown accented
With a, lace front, /Oiled shan-
tung about the neckline and
self -corded trim at • the waist.
Navy accessories and a red cor-
sage completed her ensemble.
The young couple will make
there home in Exeter following
a short honeymoon. Fr travel-
ling, the bride donned a navy
ensemble with navy and White
accessories and a corsage of
red roses.
Feted Before Marriage -
The bride was honored prior
entertained at a trousseau tea.
The hostess, the bride and
groom's mother formed a re-
ception line to welcome guests.

Ruth Ann; Mrs. Mae Ebel,

Talk On Japan
The annual Thank Offering
meeting of St. Pares Women's
Auxiliary was held in the Par-
ish Han on Tuesday, April 20.
The hall was decorated with
Easter flowers and Mies.

comed guests from the Women's
Auxiliary of Middleton, Church
and representatives from vari-
ous organizations within the
Church.
The Rector, the Rev. 13„, W.
VVenharn, introduced the speak-
er, the Rev. R. N. Savary, who
spent many years as a. mission-
ary in Japan. lVfm. Savary ac-
companied her ,husband, to-
gether with a young Japanese
student, whb is studying theol-
ogy at Wycliffe College in Tor-
onto.
Rev. Savary gave an illus-
trated address on the Old and
New Japan and also gave an
interesting account of what the
Church is trying to do to meet
the every day needs of the
Japanese people.

greatly to the occasion by sing-
