Five white bean varieties' are
recommended for planting in
southern •Ontario this year, says
Dr. Cl. H. Clark/ of Canada De-
partment of Agriculture's Re-
search Station at Harrow, Ont.
The varieties are Seaway,
Sanilac, Michelite 62, and Mich-
elite.
Seaway Is the earliest-'matur-
ing bean variety recommended
for Ontario, maturing three to
10 days earlier than Sanilac
and 10 to 18 days before Miche-
lite. 'The variety has produced
good yields in Huron County
and, when planted late, in the
More southerly areas.
Sanilac is recommended for
early planting in the more nor-,
therly Sections of the bean
growing area, and for medium
or late planting in the southern
