Club Holds Euchre
BAYFIELD — One of the
villages newest organizations
may have all senior citizens on
its roll, but members certainly
have young ideas and are not
afraid to follow them up.
The "Old Cronies" Euchre
Club decided that a night on
the town would be just the
right „spring tonic, SO members
took .se 'cue fr'ona the younger
Bayfiekl, Lions Club and the
volunteer fire brigade and plan-
ned a gala banquet at which
to entertain their wives.
Last Wednesday evening, 34
Old Cronies and their guests
sat down to a turkey dinner
With all 'the trimmings.
In traditional hussnan.'s holi-
day style, several rousing games
of euchre rounded mil the fes-
tivities, while others were con-
tent to enjoy a quiet social
chat with good company.

Ends Season for RCAF Minor Teams
Many hockey players and fans
from PM's' trooped into the
Station arena Sunday, April 11,
for a day of fun and wept. The
hockey players ranged in ages
from six years to approximately
a young 40 years.
The day started off with the
Mite House League ohaninion-
shiti game for the troPhy dona-
ted by Station Workstiorps.
The Rangers defeated the
Maple Leafs 5-4 in a sudden -
death overtime.
Goals for lljlaple Leafs were
soared by jimmY Young (2),
Robert litierge and Dot g Sack-
ett; Ken Schlegel scored the
five Ranger goals.
The second Mite game found
the „ Canadiens defeating / the
Red W'ing' in a breath:stowing
game by 2 to 1. Goals' for Red
Wings, Daryl Borden; for Can-
atliens, Bob 1Vlacrarlane; Doug
Silk and Rosa Griffin,
Between the two Mite games
eight outstanding players, se-
lected: by the five coaches were
presented the Robin Hood Oats
ceitificartes, They were: Tommy
Brennan, Danny McKay, Bobby
Tom:gal, Tony Robertson, Jim-
my, Young, Bob MacFarlane,
Ken Schlegel and Daryl Borden.
The third game was played
by two, teams from the Squirt
House League. The White Team

afternoon took place when the
Mothers took on their sons in
the Peewee grOup in Broornball.
The mothers put up a good
battle but lost 2-1, with Jean
IViaoFarlane getting the moth-
ers only goal on a penalty s'hot.
Bobby 13etts, Dale Williams and
Dexiis McKenzie scored for the
Peewees.
Mrs., Salt picked up a penalty
for the mothers, two minutes
for picking on a minor. The
