J. L. O'Rourke, pastor of St. Joseph's' Roman Catholic Ch- urch in' Stratford. Father O'Rourke was parish priest for one year at St. Jos- eph's in Clinton, and during that time was instrumental in .set- ting up the Clinton Community Credit Union Ltd, The article in the newsletter was written by Alfred Burman, assistant director of policyown- er relations for Cun'a. It deals With the start of credit union's in Western Ontario and the role played by Father O'Rourke in organizing the co-op,eretive movement in this part of the province. Of his time spent in Clinton, the article had this to say: "Father O'Rourke found 'him- self moved into a little parish in Clinton convenient to the centre of Western Ontario. Of- ficially, he was pastor, but he received help from the seminary Which took over much of the (Continued on page eight) the village of Bayfield and the township school areas of Stanley and Tuckersmith, The recommendation was contained In, a report of 'the public school consultative committee of which Reeve Ar- chie Etheringtori of Usborne is chairman. The action came after re- quests had been received front the three municipalities in- volved. It has become evident that a central school for each of the areas would not be practical since there are not sufficient -school children in any one municipality to pro- vide completely graded 'edu- cation. New legislation enables two or more township school areas or urban municipaities, or a combination thereof, to be un- ited -in a county or district school, "The committee believes this provision is sound," the report stated, "It seems ob- vious that in the future, 'it will be necessary to correlate the transportation systems of elementary and secondary schools. "A delegation from East Wawanosh and Morris town- ships met with 'the committee to discuss organization of an area Or areas to include parts of Blyth, Brussels, East Wa- wenosh -and Morris. No conclu- sions were reached but it is hoped that with preparation of financial statements, grant reports 'and proposed budgets, other discussions may prove helpful." Clinton. Memorial Shop T.
