A good representation of fathers, LiOns, :Scouts,
Cubs and leaders made up the over 140 who at-
tended the Boy Scout Week banquet last Wednes-

Schools ,tournament held in
Stratford last Saturday.
Defeat Stratfoid in Final
The MISS ainior team, un-
defeated throughout their eix-
game season schedule, broke a
tie late in the game and stayed
out in front to win 52-41. Jeff
Silas:lack, • Fred Jewsan, and
Niek Popperdt took care of most
of Clinton's scoring as they net-
ted 18, 17, and 13 paints respec-
tively. The other two Clinton
Points were scored by Larry
Pickett.
In the junior finals, the CI -ISS
team faced the squad from
Stratford Central mid won han-
dily with a 42-28 scare. The
Clinton boys led ba• a 29-17
score at half time, and held their
opponents to only two points in
the third quarter and thereby
killed any hopes of a comeback
that the Stretford team had,
This time, Larry Pickett led the
winners with his 14 points while
Poppenk. (13) and Shaddick
(11) 'followed closely. Netting
two each to complete the scor-
ing were Fred Jewson and John
Irwin.

Clinton's Joe Daer, two-time
winner of the Carling Cup, ad-
vanced to the third round of the
Championship of Bowling when
he defeated Ed Pette of Chip-
pewa Hill last Saturday after-
noon in the Motiet Forest.Lanes
The match, which Daer won
741-595 was, for the Clinton
kegler, his tenth consecutive 043-
pmpance on the program with-
out defeat.

faces Gerald Weber of Walker-
ton at 3:00 pen. The winners
of these two matches will bowl
off for the Carling CO at the
Mid Town Bowi in Walkerton
on Sunday, May 9.

twice when roads were blocked
with snow and visibility nil. The
mail carriers were unable to
make their rouncla but the mail
truck 'arrived very late on

Norman Yourighlut was taken
by ambulance on Friday morn-
ing to Clinton Public Hospital,
suffering from blood' poisen, tti
his foot. The county ploughs
had to make a road for the
ambulance to get 'to his 'born
on the baseline.

The CHSS senior boys ad-
vanced to the final by defeating
the Goderich. team 5241 in their
first game. Clare Magee and
Brad Dutot handled mot ;of the
scoring fed. the Recnnen, sink-
ing 25 and 16 points respect-
ively, •
In the seneor• final, the Clin-
ton team faced St, Marys who
had earlier ousted Wingham
with a 57-42 score, Clinton. took
a 16-5 lead in the first quarter

The Kinsmen held a short
business meeting after the din-
ner. The Kinsmen will canvass
for the Red Onoss an Monday,
March 22. The club voted to
support the Kinette Club in ap-
plying for 'a food concession at
the Interhational PloWting Mat-
ch in 1966 neat. Seaforth,
Kin Joe Atkinson: was com-
plimented for his handling of,
the XfitSrMen. Mite hockey team
at a tournament at RCAF Sta.,

The Clinton Junior Colts will
start their WOAA semi-finals
this Friday night in the Clintori
lames Arena when they play
the first of the best two -out -of -
three series with. Paisley. The
second game will be played in
the Paisley arena next Thurs-
day, March 11 with the third
game (if necessary) to be play-
ed the following night back in
Clinton.
In the 011A group finals, the
junior Colts are lined up again-
st Walkerton in a series which
is hoped to start this Sunday in
Walkerton with a 2:00 p.m.

To Play Series
Of Exhibitions
The Clinton Fish and Game
bantam hockey, team is prepar-
ing far a series of exhibition
games to be played over the
next few weeks. The first will
,be played at the RCAF arena
this Friday evening at 8:30 p,m.
when they meet the RCAF ban-
tam team. The same two teams
will meet again next week in
the Clinton Lions Arena. The
Clinton team is also trying to
schedule games with the Mitch-
ell and Exeter bantams.

and Halmesville scheduled for
last Tuesday was cancelled be-
cause cif examinations at CHSS,
but Clinton and the Ontario
Hospital played anyway and
came up with a 5-5 tie,

will face the Ontario Hospital.
