BAYFIELD-On Wednesday
evening, February 24, a good
turnout of families gathered at
the Bayfield United Church for
a pot luck supper served 'cafet-
eria style by the ladies, The fel-
lowship of the supper,hour was
enjoyed by all.
After supper, the entertain-
ment was provided by Mr. and
Mrs. D. Tuckey of London,
With Mr. Tuckey doing feats
of magic, ably assisted by his
wife, those present were privil-
eged to see a show of a quality
seldom seen in the presentation
of an amateur, The tricks in-
cluded slight -of -hand, audience
participation, and disappearing
acts.
Mr, and Mrs, Tuckey have a
cottage at Bayfield in "Glitter
Bay" and spend much of their
time here in the summer with
their family. This pleasant ev-
ening, so much enjoyed by all,
will make then batter known in
the community, and we hope it
will not be the last time they

mittee of Huron County Council
together with Reeve Ernest
Talbot and Deputy Reeve Elmer
Hayter;, Stanley Township, and
Reeve Elgin Thompson, Tuck-
ers/111th. Township, to discuss
elementary school problems.
At this meeting it seemed to
be agreed that Tuoft•ersmith and
Stanley Township councils
would be likely to pass reso-
lutions authorizing the county
council to amalgamate their two
school areas under, one board.
There was considerable discus-
sion about the position of Bay-
field. Reeve Clift said that he
had maintained the position
that Bayfield wishes to retain
its present school and to in-
crease it to four rooms. by tak-
ing in children from' SS 3 and
SS 4; he also had pointed out
that this would be a consider-
able economy for the proposed
amialgamated • school: area, and
Would give adequate opportun-
ity for education in Baytieid,
without preventing the form-
ation of , a central school at
Bruce'field. Council expressed
themselves as being in favour
of this approach and, discussed
the need for petitions and pub-
lic meetings to bring this issue
clearly before parents and rate-
payers as soon as more exact
information is forthcoming,
Bylaw 9, 1965, was passed, to
