move to get action on harbour

taened by the Ladies' Auxiliary
on Monday, afternoon, Febru-
ary 15; Mrs. Louis Forrest aet

Albert Craig and Scott Paw-

guitar, Numbere were also giv-
ed by Mrs. D. Bisbabk and Mrs.
Holland on harmonica and
accordion.
A beautifully decorated birth-

Fred Thompson. The auxiliary
served tea.

At Central Huron. Secondary
School on INIonday afternoon the
Cadet Corps officiated at the
reining of Canada's new nation-
al flag,

maple leaf flag before the as-
sembled students and teachers.

Town of Clinton citizens
turned out in goodly numbers
on Monday to watch the &zing-
ing of the flags in Library Park.
It is estimated there was over
300 onlookers, with 50 men in
the parade representing service
clubs and lodges, and over 300
public sehood children.
RCAF Station Clinton band
led the parade of official rep-
resentatives of town organize-
time. The parade was in charge
of George Campbell,. Sergeant-
at-Arms of 'Clinton Legion. All
Clinton - ministers were in the

were the color party.
Deputy Reeve George Wench
accepted the retiring ensign and
Reeve Duff Thompson unfurled
the new maple leaf flag and
assisted Scout Cummings in
raising it.
Rev. R. U. MacLean offered
a prayer and an RCAF band
bugler sounded reveille. Rev.
Father S. McGuire then offered
another prayer.
"0 Canada" was played on
a record player, and the air
force band 'played God Save
the Queen.
Mayor Symons announced to
the assembled school children
that the rest of the day was,
declared a holiday.
The Mayor is quite apprec-
iative of those responsible for
the flag-raising ceremony, esp-
ecially Councillor Conn Proctor
and Legionaire Hec Kingeweile
also the good turnout of citi-
zens, and the town police for
their handling of traffic before

BAYFIELD — The village
council met on Monday even-
ing. After the minutes of the
previous meeting had been ad-
opted, Reeve Clift reported on
the flag-raising ceremony held
earlier in the day and then out-
lined the agenda for the Meet-
ing.
Maps of the village showing
precise locations were exhibit-
ed so that responsibility for
maintenance of boundary roads
would be clearly understood by
council and the road superin-
tendent.
A motion was carried that
letter of thanks be' sent to H.
H. Ormond for his study of the
boundaries and the production
of the maps.
The Reeve reported a visit
by Elston Cardiff, MP, on
Clubs has grown to a total of
over 400 regional clubs and a
membership of well over 12,000
members. The Kinsmen Club
was founded to. promote the dir-
ect fellowship among young
business and professional Men
