Butler, Huron Street, on Thursday af- ternoon, January 14, with 18 members present. President 'Mrs. Leppington opened the meeting with the Housewife's Creed, -followed by the Lord's Prayer in unison. A one-minute silence for departed member Mrs. Webster was observed. Roll call was answered by pay- ing fees for 1965, and describ- ing 'the most treasured gift re- ceived at Christmas. Correspondence was read 'and dealt with and all bills were ordered paid. The treasurer's report was given and things generally getting into 'the stride for the new year. A quilt is to be made in the near future and plans ware made to have a card party in the Orange Hall on January 20. The special project for the central commit- tee Was approved 'and members -have already contributed one hundred percent. A program was in charge of Mrs. Mulholland and Mrs. Fal- coner; Which included a reading by Mrs. Cummings and Mrs. M Ph 11 d d t t u o an an a green con es which was won by Mrs. Fal- coner. Lunch was served by Mrs. Col- clough's group. Mrs. Falconer offered her home for the Feb- ruary meeting. The regular meeting day is the second Wednesday of each month. aderteine Lane Auxiliary:eel ifeld Jan 12th On Tuesday evening, January 12th, the regular meeting of the Madeleine Lane Auxiliary of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church was' held at the home of Mrs. Frank Mutch, 112 Joseph St., With several members in at- tendance. After the singing of a hymn, Mrs. Viola Lampman read the Scripture lesson and Miss Mabel'. Harvey led in prayer. Roll call was answered by a New Year's' Resolution. The secretary and 'treasurer's annual reports were read showing the Auxiliary had' a successful year. Mrs. Robert Homuth thank- ed the ladies for the 'co-opera- tion 'they had given her in the past year and said she hoped the ladies would give the new president, Mrs. Wiilliam Cook, the same support. The presi- dent said volunteers are needed to clean out the cupboards in the Sunday School rooms and also 'to 'assist with the hospital rent during the month of Feb- ruary. Projects for the 'coming months were discussed and tentative plans were made for a rummage sale 'in April, two businessmen's luncheons in the summer months and the usual bazaar and 'tea at the end of October. Those initiated were Judy Carter, Helen Cudmore, Sybil Fisher, June Falconer, Glenda Gray, Janice Herman, Donna Hoggart, Linda Levis, Lorraine Overboe, Nancy Pickett, Rhon- da Rathwell, Joan Switzer and Lynne Williams. Games were conducted by the Seniors under the leadership of Mrs. Bert Pepper.
