Top Incumbent Clinton Councillors
Ousted Monday In Record Voting
:Clinton was trailing only
once during the entire game,
as the Walkerton crew opened
the scoring at 3:49 of the first
period, taking advantage of a
hooking penalty to Robin Lori
of the Junior Colts.
But Clinton was not to be
outdone, and they bounced back
with two goals in less :than :30
seconds and scored a third time
at the 9:31 mark. All three
of the goals were' scored by
Bruce Cooper with assistance
from his brother John and Bob
Livermore.
Walkerton narrowed the mar!-
gin less than three minutes
later with a goal by Bob Bog-
don which remained unanswer-
ed until 18:08 of the period
when Rabbi Lori scored on as-
sists from Barry Glazier and
Laurie Colquhoun.
17-Second Switch
In the second period, Walker-
too once again took advantage•
of an early penalty to the Jun-
ior Colts and made the score
5-3, but the hometowners' came
back- with a goal at 4:07 while
the visitors were shorthanded
as John Cooper scored on a
pass from Doh Yea. .They in-
creased their -hold on the lead:
at 6:00 when Bob Livermore
netted' his first of five goals in
the game. Four Minutes later, •
he scored his second.
'Seventeen second's later,
Laurie .Colquhoun had made
the score 7-4 on a pass from
Ray Garon. John Cooper ,scOr-
ed his . second of the night at
16:48 •of the second period anti
Bob Livermore ended the sem-
ing for the period 17 seconds
later.
Scoring was held `to three
goals in the third period, .all
three being scored by Clinton's:
Bob Livermore. John Cooper
received assists on all three
while Bruce Cooper was credit-
ed with assists on two of them.
Give 29 Penalties ..
But although the scoring was
low, excitement was far from
gone as 15 penalties totalling
39 minutes of repentance in the
sin-bin were handed out by the
officials. Three major penalties
were issued, the first to Bruce
Cooper -Of the Junior Colts' for
cross-checking at 14:42 of the
third period.
The 18 seconds remaining in
the game when Cooper return-
ed 'to the ice was' enough to
allow him 'to receive another
penalty, two more minutes .for
elbowing, at 19:49. Ait the same
time, Clinton's Ray .Garon. and
Walkerton's. Tim O'Hagon en-
gaged in a battle that cost each
of them a two minute minor
for high-sticking and a five-
minute major for fighting:
As if that wasn't a sour
enough note to end the' game
on, Clinton goaltender, Lorne
Daer, finished the game with a
penalty for holding the puck at
19:59.
The final. score of the game:
Clinton Junior Colts 11, Walk-
erton 4. A total of 67 minutes
was served for 29 penalties,
