The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a pale pink dress with a pillbox hat with a short white veil. She carried red roses on a white Bible, The Maid of honour was Linda Dales of Clinton. She wore a dress of winter white with gold trim and a red rose corsage. Groomsman was D. R. Childs • of Camp Borden. UCW Fidelity Unit Christmas Party Attended By 27 The December meeting of the Fidelity Unit of Wesley-Willie UCW took the form • of a Christmas party, arranged and conducted by Mrs, F. Fingland and Mrs. G. Rathwell, and at- tended by 27 members and visi- tors. The party began at 1:00 p.m. with a pot-luck luncheon serv- ed in the Sunday School room which was decorated for the occasion. After the luncheon, - Christmas music was played by Mrs. Win. Heard on; her .accor- clion and Mrs, Ken Johnston on the piano. The rest of the meeting took place in the ladies' parlor, where Mrs. Fingland conduct- ed a worship service assisted by Mrs. N, Shepherd and Mrs. F. Andrews. Mrs. Rathwell gave the Christmas readings, and Mrs. Fingland presented an article on social inequality in Sonth Africa. Special features of the pro- gram were two displays—one of objects from many lands, which were shown and explained by Mrs. R. Kay and son, Donald, were enter- tained at a surprise party by a few relatives and friends, in the Orange Hail, on Friday even- ing, Dec. 3. The occasion was in honor of the 25th. wedding anniversary of Mr, and Mrs. Kay. At a recent meeting of the Canadian Guernsey Breeders' Association held in„ Toronto, Samuel Rid:click, Clinton, was made an honorary member:- - Baydield, which has 'been but a short time an independent municipality, and is, in fact, the youngest of the whole family which make up the County of Huron, had yet a "local halbita,. ton and a name nearly a gen- eration previous to the exist- ence of what now are among the largest and most prosperous centres of trade within the bounds of the whole of the old Huron Tract. Both the local habitation and the name were given it by a, celebrated Eng- lish engineer named Hayfield, whose professional services the Baron de Tuyil enlisted to come to Canada and select a place in the territory of the Canada Company whereon to found and build a town.
