Honored By Party
At Londesboro
A surprise birthday party
was held in the Londesboro
Hall on Nov, 14 for Mrs. Laura
Saundercoek With around 46 of
her nieces and nephews and her
family present.
Mary Lynn Saundercock pin-
ned_ a . corsage on her grand-
mother. The evening was spent
in progressive euchre, crokinole
and pictures were shown by
Harold Crich Mrs. Saunder-
cock was then called to the
front and Mrs. Norman Rad-
ford read a short address. Clar-
ence Crawford and Bessie Mc-
Bride presented their aunt with
a wrist watch, 'a purse of money
and, a 'mum plant, the gift of
Mrs. McBride Sr.
Everyone then sat down to a
lunch. The table was decorated
with pink and white carnations
and centred with a birthday
cake.
Mrs. Seta/del-Cock thanked
everyone for the gifts and the
evening. Nieces and nephews
were present from Drayton
Valley, Alberta; Niagara Falls,
London, Sat/It Ste. Marie, Gait,
Winghiana Gederiele lelyth and
Clinton.

at RCAF Station Clinton.
The picture was credited as
an "RCAF' Photo". Although
the picture was taken alt RCAF
Station Clinton, it was not an
official RCAF photograph.

in the church on Tuesday even-

Reports were given by Mrs.
H. Jones and Mrs. B. -Faber
who attended 'the regional
meeting recently. Plans were
completed 'to cater to 'a Wed-
ding this month, and a -dinner
to be served 'to Huron Presby-
tery Men. Hostesses were Mrs,
R. McGregor and Mrs, K. Lov-
ell,

dent, Mrs. William Cox was in

The Scripture lesson was
read by Mrs. Allen Betties_ and
the Lord's Prayer repeated in
unison. A chapter from the
study book, "Salvation" was
taken by Mrs, Chester Sturdy.
Roll call was answered by
giving twice the size of your
sock in pennies.
The secretary's report was
given by Mrs. Argyle Lockhart
and the firlanalial report by
Mrs. Ray Cox. It was decided
to donate $35 to the Missionary
and Maintenance Fund 'and $10
to the Canadian Bible Society.
A cell) quilt was quilted during
the afternoon. At the close of
the meeting lunch was served
by the hostess.
The December meeting will
be at the home of Mrs. Wilmer
Riddell and "election of officers
for 1965 will be held. •

Many Showers
Mrs. Bozzato, the, former
Bonnie Kyle, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs, Wm, Kyle of Klippen,
was honored at several showers
prior to her marriage Satur-
day, Nov. 21 when. she received
some gifts.
At a shower, Mrs. Anthony
Bozzato of Welland, entertain-
ed on Nov. 15; a congregation-
al shower was held at St. And-
rew's United Church, Kipper,
on Wednesday evening, Nov.
18, and was arranged by Mrs.
Lloyd Lovell and Mrs. Edgar
McBride.
The programme consisted of
singing by the McKay family,
accompanied by their mother,
Mrs. Ken McKay. Mrs, Lloyd
Lovell conducted two contests
and sing-songs were enjoyed
with Mrs. Ross Broadfoot at
the piano.
Following the rehearsal Fri-
day evening, the bridal party
was entertained by the bride-
elect's mother, Mrs. Wm. Kyle
and Mr. Kyle. Those who en-
tertained previously were a sis-
ter, Mrs. Harold Caldwell, Han-
sen; an aunt, Mrs. Emersion
Kyle, Klippen:and Mrs. Clarence
DuCharrne in Zurich. Mrs. W.
J. F. Bell entertained the 4-H
girls' club and a presentation
of a pair of dresser lamps was
made.

Thirty-seven neighbors and
relatives attended a miscellan-
eous shower Tuesday evening,
Nov, 17 at 'the home of Mr,
Mrs. DaVe Triebner, 'honoring
Miss Alice Dowries of Brussels,
bride-elect of Friday, Nov, 29,
The Shower was arranged by
Misses 'Gayle< Robinson, Kippen,
and Marion ANLit of Hills-
green. The address was read by
Ruth -Moore, and gifts present-
ed by Cheryl Riley, assisted by
a few older girls. A lunch was
served by the hostess.

Samples Cheeses
At Meeting The November meeting of
the Auburn Women's Institute
was held in the Community
Memorial Hall with the presi-
dent, Mrs. Bert Craig in charge.
The meeting was opened by
singing the Ode, the Mary
Stewart Collect and "0 Can-
ada" with Mrs. William J. Craig
at the Piano.
The president thanked all
who had assisted with 'the ban-
quets and family night and also
reported on the visit to the
Clinton branch. The minutes
were read by Mrs. Ed, Davies
in the absence of the secretary,
Mrs. Thomas }loggia.
The members decided 'to pur-
chase coffee spoons for re-sale.
The pictures .of the Sunshine
Sisters banquet were distribut-
ed by 'the assistant secretary,
Mrs, Thomas Lawlor.
Convention Report
Reports of the London Area
Convention held recently at St.
Thomas were given by the dele-
gates, Mrs. Ed. Davies .and Mrs.
Wes Bradhock.
The convener of Horne Econ-
omics and Health, Mrs. Gordon
Chamney 'introduced Mr. Peter'
Cutter, of Winghem, manager
of the Blyth a, n d Wingham
United Dairy and Poultry Co-
op. He told the history of the
making of cheese and said this
is the Centennial year in Can-
ada for cheese as it was first
made in Oxford County in 1864.
He went on to 'tell about the
sale of cheese to other coun-
tries and said that in 1963 Can-
adians consumed „.1.54 million
pounds. Mr. Cutter then show-
ed pictures of the Blyth and
Wirighem plants in operation,
Mrs. Lloyd Humphreys thank-
ed Mr. Cutter for his address
and on behalf of the Branch
presented him with a gift. Mr.
Cutter passed samples of some

Meet Wednesday
The Explorer Girls of Ontario
Street United Church held a
special seraice in the chapel
on Wednesday evening, Nov.18.
The following girls took part
in the initiation ceremony and
became members of 'the group;
Holly Munroe, Cathy Aiken, Es-
ther Merrill, Janet Delawski,
Janet East, Karen Tyndall,
Holly Define, Debbie Glenn and
Sharon Williams.
Barbara Elliott, Ann Critten-
den and Heather McAdam re-
ceived their first blue star.
Barbara Symons, Marilyn Aitk-
en, Bonnie Riehl and Lynne
Gibbings received their first
gold star.
Several mothers were pre-
sent at the service. Certificat-
es and stars 'were presented
by the leader, Miss Olive John-
son, assisted by the Senior girls.

Santa Draws Crowd
To Store Opening
Many Area residents attended
the first "Open House" held at
Drysdale Crest Hardware, Hen-
get' on Tuesday night. The big
attra0tlibh for the children was
this year's first appearance, of
Santa 'Claus in 'the villiaige.
Coffee and 'doughnuts were
served 'to those attending, and
Santa gave candy canes to. the
children.
