Attend Numismatists Annual. Meeting
Close to 400 browsers, fanciers and serious
collectors of old and curious coins were on hand
Sunday afternoon at the Elm Haven Motel for the
annual, coin exhibition sponsored by the Huron
County Numismatic Society.

Friday the ,13th did not turn
out to be unlucky for the Jun-
ior colts as they romped to
victory in their first scheduled
game of the season• with a 12-4
win over Walkerton at .the
Clinton Lions Arena last Fri-
day night.
Barry Glazier started off a
list of 36 penalties with a
boarding penalty at the 28 sec-
ond mark of the first period as
the referees wasted no time in
Showing everyone present ex-
netly who was boss.
Cooper, Livermore Score
Walkerton came on strong
with two goals in the filet five
minutes of the game, leaving
the local boys in a daze, but
the homeowners broke loose
when Bob Livermore put Clin-
ton on the scoreboard at 7:01
of the first period with assists
from John Cooper and Don Yeo.
Bruce Cooper tied it up at 8:28
with help from Bob Batkin and
Dean Reid.
There was no more scoring
in the first period, and only the
one penalty was handed out in
the first 11 minutes of play,
but 'before the period had end-
ed, another six penalties had
been dished out, four to Clinton
and two to Walkerton:
Second-period action started
at the 1:41 mark with a hook-
ing penalty to Tim O'Hagon of
Walkerton and continued with
double penalties for roughing,.
at 2:46 resulting from a Scuffle
between Dave Niesen of Walk-
erton and Robbie. Lori of Clin-
ton. Two more roughing pen-
alties were called at the 5:20
mark after a scuffle between
Walkerton's. Len Long and
Clinton's Ray Garon,
Cooper Scores Again
Then at the 5:34 mark, Bruce
Cooper scored his second goal
of the night on a pass from
Bob Livermore , and at 8:25,
scored again, this time unas-
sisted and with a Walkerton
player in the penalty. box.
Eighteen seconds later, Dean
Reid 'scored for Clinton from.
Randy Glew and Bob Batkin,
and 25 seconds' after that, Bat-
kin made it 6-2 on .a pass from
Glew.
Walkerton closed the
Double-Header
Hockey Match
On Saturday, Nov. 21, two
Detroit, Mich., hockey teams
will play 'against Clinton teams
at the RCAF Station Clinton
arena. The public is invited to
attend the games.
At 1:30 p.m., Detroit Hunt-
ington News Bantams take on
the Bantams of Adastral Park.
Ait 3:00 p.m., the Detroit Metro
All Stars challenge RCAF Sta-
tion Clinton Inter-Section Lea-
gue All Stars.

Two For Colquhoun
In the third frame, Laurie
Colquhoun opened the scoring
at 7:57 assisted by Don Yeo
and dented the nets unassisted
with another goal at 10:22.
Twenty-three seconds later,
Bruce Cooper scored again
from Bob Livermbre and net-
ted his seventh goal of the
game unassisted less than a
minute later.
With three seconds remain-
ing in the game, Walkerton
pushed the puck past Clinton
goalie, Lorne Daer, to make,
the final score 12-4 for the
Junior Colts.
Before the 'game had ended,
36 penalties had been handed
out, 20 of . them in the final
period.
The meeting started at noon,
and continued through the aft-
ernoon and evening until about
9 p.m.
During that time 100 lots of
coins were auctioned off for a
total value Of more than $1,000.
.4 1947 Canadian dollar-with a
catalogue value of over $200-
brought top price at the auction
of $165.00.
Medallion Displayed
One of the highlights of the
Goderich Kinsmen
Visit Clinton Club
About 30 men from the God-
erich Kinsmen Club were guests
Tuesday night of members of
the Clinton Kinsmen Club at
their regular meeting at Hotel
Clinton.
Guest speaker at the meet-
ing was Kin Roger Ellis of the
Preston Kinsmen Club who
spoke on World Council, theme
for the meeting.
Some of the ideals of World
Council include the development
of fellowship of young men
through the medium of busi-
ness and professional occupa-
tions and community service
activities.
World Council
Another aim is to encourage
active and responsible citizen-
ship by cultivating the highest
ideals in business, professional
and civic traditions.
Mr. Ellis spoke to the Clin-
ton club about experiences he
had had while visiting similar
service clubs in Europe and
Great Britain.
Council Report
During the business session,
Kinsmen heard a report on the
last session of Clinton Town
Council from the club's two re-
presentatives who attended the
meeting.
The club agreed to send two
representatives to subsequent
council meetings.

New Police Phone
Still Confusing
Some Clinton residents still
are not sure how to go about
taking advantage of the mobile
telephone in the Clinton police
cruiser, Councillor George
Wonch told council Monday
night
"Although the News-Record
has co-operated on this matter
several times in the past," he
said, "perhaps they will be kind
enough to explain once again
how the system, works."
He said persons wishing to
contact the police by telephone
should first call the Police of-
fice at 482-3435 and let the
'phone ring four or five times•
before hanging up.

Federation Meeting
The Huron County Federa-
tion of Agriculture will be
holding its annual meeting on
Tuesday, Nov. 24 in the Coen-
munity Hall at Londesboro, The
meeting will start at 1:30 p.m.
meeting was a display owned
by Don Flick of Oakville which
has won prizes at shows across
Canada.
The collection includes a sil-
ver medallion struck in 1867 to
commemorate the confederation
of Canada. Few of the limited
circulation medallions remain
in existence as many were mel-
ted down years ago for the
value of the silver they con-
tained.
The commemorative medal is
about four inches in diameter,
a quarter of an inch thick, and
made of solid silver! One was
given to each of the Fathers
of Confederation.
Sell Dollars
During the meeting, the club
sold a limited number of 1964
Canadian Commemorative dol-
lars on a one-to-a-customer bas-
is at one dollar each.
A total of 288 persons paid
admissions to the show, and
112 attended the banquet.

Clinton Junior Colts Break Even
In. First Two Scheduled Games

The Clinton Junior Colts hockey team won
one and lost one during the past week as they beat
Walkerton 12-4 last Friday night in Clinton and
then went down to defeat 11-3 at the hands of the
Owen Sound team Tuesday night at Owen Sound.
The games opened the OHA Junior "D" hockey
schedule for the Colts.
LOSE ,TUESDAY
On Tuesday night, the Junior
Colts travelled to Owen Sound
where the tables were turned
on them as they went down to
an 11-3 defeat at the hands of
their hosts. The game was a
long, cfrawn-out affair_as the
referees called a tota of 40
penalties including one miscon-
duct and two 'five-minute maj-
ors.
In the first period, Clinton
started things off early again
with a penalty; this time it
was to Don Colquhoun at 0:15
for interference, but they were
only shorthanded for ten sec-
onds as Hurly of Owen Sound
received a charging penalty at
the 0:25 mark.
Owen Sound opened the
scoring at 6:17 of the first
period and added another at
8:15 while Owen Sound's Stew-
art and Clinton's Don Yeo were
sitting out roughing penalties.
Before the period ended, Owen
Sound had scored two more
goals,. both of them with Clin-
ton shorthanded.
Colquhoun, Batkin Score
The Junior Colts opened 'the
scoring in the second period at
the 2:40 mark with a goal by
gap Laurie Colquhoun from Robbie
Lori and Ray Garon, but Owen
Sound came back with two
more goals to make the score
6-1 at the end of the frame.
Nine 'penalties were called in
'the second period, five to Clin-
ton.
The game broke wide open
in the third, period as Bob Bat-
kin scored for Clinton; Owen
Sound scored four consecutive
goals, and 'Colquhoun again hit
pay dirt for Clinton.
At 11:20, Clinton goalie,
Lorne Daer, and Owen Sound
centre, Iuribut, engaged in a
battle which cost each of them
a five-minute major and two
minutes each for high-sticking.
The Junior Colts will be out
for revenge this Friday (tomor-
row) night when Owen Sound
returns the visit for 'an 8:30
game in Clinton Lions Arena Etta
Following is a schedule of the 1064-65 season for the
Clinton Sunior Colts, this town's entry in the Northern
League of the OHA Junior "D" hockey competition:
