This group which was organiz- ed several months ago, are working with the Federation of Baptist Men of Ontario and Quebec. The organization has now spread into the Western Provinces and to the Maritimes: Mr. Ivan Mueller of Guelph, provincial secretary,' spoke to the group but the main speaker of the evening was Mr. George Ha' rap, publicity chairman for the province. Mr. Mueller spoke on the aim and purpose of the BrOth- erhood, "Every Man Active in His Church" and cited instan- ces of. group activities in var- ious communities throughout the Dominion. Those present were invited to attend ,the an- nual Retreat at the Guelph Bible Conference grounds at Guelph, the 'weekend following Labour Day. , The annual at- tendance has been about 200 men for the Retreat, so it is necessary to register early. The Dominion group has received an 'official charter and as each group is organized they will re- ceive a charter, Varna YPU Group Plans Service The regular meeting of the YPU of the VarnaUnited Ch- urch was held Sunday evening in the church. The new presi- dent, Margaret Addington was in charge. Rev. M. Morrison took the Bible study and 14 answered the roll call. The bowling party held last Tuesday evening was a decided success. The young people are plan- ning on taking part in, a candle-light service which will be put on in the church in the near future. I. The fringe- skirted, low-waisted days of the 20's were caricatur- ed in the show produced by, Sylvia Dolan. The aptist Brotherhood Group eets At Auburn Church Roaring 20's At RCAF Clinton Petitioners To Get Light The -Protection to Persons and Property Committee' of Clinton Town Council was giv- en power to act on a request from 11 residents of the North and Orange. Streets area at council's last meeting.- The 11 persons—who signed their name to a request—asked that 'a street light be placed near that intersection to make lit brighter at night. Coundillor Symons, chairman of the comthittee, said that in- tersection was one which had been noted by his committee and for Which remedial action had been planned. The main speaker, Mr. Geo- rge Harrap told of the many meetings he had attended and stressed the importance of Bible study, using some of the better commentaries. He told about a professor of languages who spoke 42 languages and understood Several more, who finished his remarks one day by saying, "No man knows en- ough to contradict 'the Bible."
