Hewitt. The minutes of the March and August meetings were read and moved for adoption .by Brig. Clift, seconded by Mr. Merner. Hear Reports The treasurer's report show- ed a bank balance of $120.46. Scoutmaster Dungey reported the new season's activities had started, and showed troop funds of $8.40. Cubnsaster Gallant reported regular meetings of the cub pas& with 100 per cent attend- ance since Sept. 8. Meetings have been conducted jointly with A.M.C. with John Mac- Vicar assisted by Miss Terry MacVicar as instructors. Jack Gallant, District Com- missioner, said he would give all possible assistance to the Hayfield' troop and pack until such time as he is free of dist- riot duties at which time he Bayfield Lions Hear Registrar Of Huron County The Bayllield Lions Club held Its regular dinner meeting at Cedar Grove last Tuesday and had a s • its guests Stanley Township clerk Mel Graham and Huron County registrar Harry Ford. Mr. Graham was -=introduced by Lion Harvey Coleman and he spoke 'to the club relaying information on the Lions' pre- posed building project. Guest speaker Mr. Fostl was introduced by Lion Fred Clift. Mr. Ford outlined' the history of the Registry Oftibe and • the manes of all the regist- rars prior to his appoint nent With the use of samples of deeds, mortgages and abStracts he outlined the procedures used in transferring and registering property and how titles were searched. He was - thanked for his ad- dress by Lion Bob Maloney. Calling All Bayfield Scouts Hayfield scouts and all boys between 'the ages of 11 and 16 who are interested in joining the scouting movement are asked to attend a meeting in Bayfield Public School on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m, Those who own uniforms are asked to wear them to the meeting. The main item for discussion at the meeting is the Remem- brance ,Day Parade to be held this year on Sunday, and reg- istration for the new year, will return to group leadership if he 'is. still needed and if he is still located at Hayfield. The office of cubmaster was assumed Tuesday by John Mac- Vicar, Seek Scoutmaster The major item of business arising from the minutes dealt with the search for a new scoutraasIter. Mr. Merner re- ported on interviews he had conducted' and said Mr. Hewitt was present at the meeting as a result. Mr. Hewitt was invited to address the meeting and said he would be willing to assume the rode of scoutmaster until another leader could be obtain- ed but that he would be even more interested in organizing a Rover Crew, if possible. St was moved by Adam Flowers and seconded by Mr. Merrier that Mr. Hewitt be re- commended to Provincial Head- quarters as scoutmaster. The motion was carried. Other business included dis- cussions of the Remembrance Day Parade on Sunday, camp- ing sites and the 1964-65 reg- istrations. A meeting of registered scouts, new members, wishing to register, leaders and group committeemen will be held in the Hayfield Public School Thursday night (tonight) at 7:30 pan. Mother Attends Son's Graduation Lynda Youngblut of Toronto last week graduated from the Institute of Chartered Account- ants of Ontario. His, mother, Mrs. Major Youngblut, attended the cere- mony held in the Ontario room of 'the Royal York Hotel. Mr. Youngblut was one of the 320 graduates which also included four girls. He -is now employed with Wilson-Eddis arid Associates of Toronto, the firm which he has been with for the past five years, two years at Orillia and the last three years in Toronto. Blue Water Highway Mrs. Piet Poiderman has re- turned to her home in Middel- burg, The Netherlands. She. has spent the past two, months with her son-in-law, daughter and grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Join Koene and family. Mrs. Koene 'accompanied her mother from Toronto to Mont- real on Saturday via CPR from where Mrs. Polderman confirm., eft via air and Mrs. Koene re- turned home On Sunday. Miss Cathryn Wallis, nurse- instsajning at St, Thomas-Elgin Hospital, St. Morton spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Fred Wallis. The regular monthly meet- ing of the Protestant Chapel Guild will be held on Monday, November 9th, at 8:15 p.m. at the Chapel Annex. The preg- nant will be on the life of Dr. Edith Brown of the Lud- hiana Christian Medical Hospi- tal in India. Following the meeting there will be a work bee on the children's Christmas crackers for the bazaar. This bazaar and tea will take place' at the Community Centre on Novem- ber 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. and will feature a 'bakery shoppe', `ye aide curiosity shoppe, 'the novelty table arid the sewing nook with the' girls in costume of an Olde English bazaar style. The Catholic Women's Lea- gue is sponsoring its annual Toy Drive for needy children the 9th of November instead of the 7th as previously announc- ed. The collection of used toys will be done by the Girl Guides from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday next in all the Permanent Married Quarter and the ap- artments of the Park. These toys will be sent 'to be repaired and repainted by pat- ients of the Veterans' Hospi- tal in London. Distribution will then be made for Christmas at a home for poor youngsters. Figure skating lesson's start- ed in 'the Station Arena on Monday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. with J. A. Johnson as figure skating instructor. Miss Jackie and Miss Jane Valiance from Atwood visited Miss Monique Haspeck over 'the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Point- ing have returned home to New Brunswick after spending the month of October at the house of Corporal and Mrs. Wm. Guides had a party to celebrate Halloween, The Boy Scouts were invited and 50 children arrived to share in the games. A "Kan- garoo" court was held with the judge and jury of Girl Guides to hand out sentences .to 'the chosen criminals. Refreshments were served. Members of Teen Town held their celebration at the Com- munity Centre on Friday, Octo- ber 30. At the Recreation Centre on Saturday, October 31st, the RCAF Cross Trailers held a dance for square dancers of 'the area. Couples from Cass City, Mich., came to take part in the dancing along with scores from surrounding towns. The evening ended aver a buffet of southern fried chicken and cof- fee. Women's Auxiliary The regular meeting of the Women's Auxiliary was held Monday, November 2 in the Community Centre. Mrs. M. Spano' presided and Mrs. G. Marshall read the secretary's reposit and Mrs. D. Worth gave the treasurer's report. Plans were' made for the Rumniage Sale to be held on Saturday, November 21st. The pick-up -will be made on Fri- day, November 20. Sergeant D. W. Dawkins gave a demonstration on how to create decorations with fresh flowers. He made a cor- sage using white 'mums. He made a table centrepiece with bronze and white bleoans and he also gave information on how to treat flowers of any kind. Mrs. Spano thanked Sergeant Dawkins for his display. Re- freshments were served at the conclusion of the evening's ent- ertainment. Plaetser. A guessing game was in charge of Brian Omit and riddles were given by Karen East. The Grand March took place with the judging of costumes. First prize for being well-dress- ed went to Gail Seers who dres- sed as "Granny" in the Bev- erley Hillbillies, and she comic prize was awarded 'to Paul Marion and George Collins as man and wife. A. candy hunt was held for the JunSor pupils and Words from Hallowe'en were read by Mark Arthur. A guessing song contest was conducted by Jennifer Grange .and Hob Mar- ion was the winner.
