At Clinton Lions Club meet-
ing Tuesday evening in St,
Paul's Parish Hall, the mem-
bers beard committee reports
and plans for future activities,
President Les Ball was ie

Tod Roberts, a history teach-
er at CHSS, who has been a
member of the •Goelerich Lions
Club, but now living in Clinton,
was a guest.
Clinton eLicarts will send a
good delegation to the combin-
ed 25th anniversary of Harris-
ton and Palmerston Lions
Clubs. The Clinton club were
the sponsors of Palmerston,
when George Lavelle, a Clinton
Lion at 'that 'time, moved to
Palmerston, The affair is sch-
eduled for Harriston Legion
Hall on. Friday, November 6,
The Lions heard 'that over
$800 had been realized from the
rummage sale in September,
and that this event will become
an annual affair. Also, accord-
ing to Lion vice-president Duff
Thompson, the club will hold
a barbecue again in 1965, pos-
sibly with some entertainment
thrown in.

of the Lions appointments to
Clinton Centennial Project
Committee, bringing the Lions
up to date on 'the proposed

Mr. Soruton also spoke on
the junior hockey team recent-
ly formed, of which he is an
executive member'. He had a
crew of -salesmen sell booster
tickets to the other Lions.

a midget hockey team again
this winter. Lion Bill "Blond-
ie" 'Cook will be manager.

inated for the eight-man exec-
utive committee of Clinton
Branch 140 of the Royal Care

meeting Monday night.
All nominees for this com-
mittee and other offices for

brance", Nov. 8-14, Clinton
Legion Will fly the newly pur-
chased "Remembrance" flag at
the hall.
Garnet Harland, chairman of
the Poppy Committee, reported
on the financial position of the
poppy fend. He said only $250
was spent from this fund dur-
ing the past year, "but we still
neust build the fund up, be-
cause we never know when
these funds are needed to help
war veterans and theie families
in time of need".

CHSS Receives Plaques
Three plaques for student competition in the academic field were presented
to Central Huron Secondary School this week by the officers and men of
RCAF Station Clinton. The presentation was made by Group Captain K. R.
Greenaway CD, commanding officer of RCAF Station Clinton, to CHSS prin-
cipal D. J. Cochrane. The plaques will be competed for on an annual basis in arts
and science, technical and commercial courses, and will remain in the school
