In City Hospital
Quigley; Alphonsus Vincent,
died in St. Michael's Hospital,
Teronto,,yon. Monday, Septem-
ber 7th.
Mr. Quigley was born on Sep-
tember 9th, 1891, to Patrick
and Anastasia Quigley of Clin-
ton. He was a member of St.
Joseph's Church and at an ear-
ly age joined the staff of the
News-Re cord.
Prayers at the O'Connor fun-
eral home were said by the
Holy Name Society, Joseph
Culliton, C.S.B., Rev. Hugh
Curran and the Loretto Sist-
ers,
Oh Thursday, September
10th, Requiem High Mass was
sung in St. Brigid's Parish
Church in Toronto by the Rev.
Father Gray. Interment was in
Mount Hope Cemetery in Tor-
onto.

Craig Peters
Staying Here
For One Year
Craig Peters who has served
as student pastor of the Clinton
and Auburn Baptist Churches
and as chaplain at Huronv'iew
for the past three and .a half
years, ,announced this week he
will become resident, full time
pastor 'this month.
At a recent congregriticna
meeting Mr. Peters said. he will
defer his final year of theolog-
ical training for one year it
order to come to Clinton and
Auburn on a nearly full time
basis this winter.
In September of 1965, he
plans to resume his studies at
Earlham School of Religion at
Richmond, Indiana,
While attending McMaster
University and McMaster Col-
lege at Hamilton, Mr. Peters
has come to Clinton every
weekend to • conduct Sunday
services.
He said while this arrange-
ment 'had proven satisfactory
in a small church, he felt a
full-time ministry was really
needed.
Mr, and Mrs. Peters expect
to move into the Baptist Par-
sonage on Albert Street in late
October.

Flight Lieut. Hugh M, Col-
quhoun, of RCAF Station
Chatham, N.I3., is presently
visiting his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. E. W. Colquhoun, Huron
Street. F/L Calquhoun will
motor to Moose Jaw, Sask.,
Where his wife is now visiting
at her parental home. They
will return to Clinton to spend
the remainder of their leave,
Mildred Crich
Mildred Crich, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Crich of
Tuckersmith has received her
RNA having graduated from
Wingham General Hospital.
She is now on staff at the
hospital as a .nurse.

Viewing the summer in retrospect, one notes
a number of properties in the area have changed
hands and new homes have been started and in
some cases completed.
The former Dr. W. Metcalf
11 -me now the property of
Brigadier G. L. Morgan Smith
immediately springs to mind
together with the Albion Hotel,
now owned and operated by
Mr. and Mrs. Robison, after be-
ing the MacKay home for many
years.
More recent changes of
ownership are the Castle home
on Main St. owned by Mr. and
Mrs. W, Turner; the Lindsay
home at the north end of the
village, now jointly owned by
Mrs. L. Poth and Mrs, F. A.
Some Underway
The Johnston property near
the Bannister apartments, now
owned by Mr. B, Eckert, and
the McGee home on the Varna
Road recently purchased by
Mr. Moran, St. Catharines.
New homes in the village the
past year include, the one built
far Mrs. C. Talbot on Chiniquy
St. in which she has already
taken up residence, and a cot-
tage on Howard St. which has
been occupied by the owner,.
Mr. Logan (city of London
Treasurer) and his family.
Others not yet completed in-
elude the Mr. and Mrs. J. E.
Hovey home on property pur-
chased from Mrs. Gairclnere Mr.
and Mrs. T. Logan's new home
situated on land purchased
from Miss Eileen Re,ssion,
and the Harold Weston home
which is being erected on
Main St.
Other Changes
The J. E., Hovey lot on Del-
evan St. has been purchased by
Mr. R. Johns, Mount Clemens,
Mich., and the Misses Fowlies'
lot is now owned by a Mr.
Towers.
Business properties changing
hands also include the former
Westlake Garage, now operated
by Jack Merrier who with his
wife and family live on Louisa
St.
The Bayfiehl Boat Club and
cabins, previously owned by A.
F. Scotehmer, purchased by Mr.
Schram and Mr. Zeigler, De-
troit, while the most recent
change is the Old Forge, owned
by Mr. and Mrs. W. Pierson,
now operated by Mr. and Mrs,
B. W. Erickson.

Huge Crowd Attends Lions First Rummage Sale'
Nearly 1,000 persons attended Clinton Lions rummage sale at the arena
Saturday. Over $700 was cleared by the local service club for welfare work
in Clinton and area. Household items and furniture were sold by auction
and clothing and boots and shoes were sold from booths manned by Lions and
their wives. The most popular booth was the baking booth which was cleared

Complete instructions for
making DDD calls will be in-
cluded in the new London Dir-
ectory Which will be delivered
in October.
On Sept. 15, S/L Dolan was
again in Toronto, at the Hea-
ther Room in Toronto's Granite
Club, for a briefing on SIT.
This time, his audience con-
sisted of 27 Training Directors
from .leading insurance conip-
anies in Ontario and Maritim-
es. The group was concerned
with the possibility of having
insurance company training
directors attend the SIT course,
An extensive question period
followed S/L Dolan's briefing
and those present expressed
great interest in what is being
accomplished at SIT.
S/L Dolan who holds an MA
degree in PolitiCal Science from
Carleton University; Ottawa,
has had extensive background
service as an education officer
in the RCAF, '
He has been Officer Com-
manding the SIT since July of
1962.

Speaker In Demand
On August 28 he addressed
a group of IBM Educational
Representatives in Toronto.
His talk at that time touched
on the purpose of the RCAF's
School of Instructional Tech-
nique, and the methods used to
train prospective instructors at
the school,
Education Director for IBM
Toronto, R. Beggs, expressed
strong interest in the course
o7ered at SIT, and told S/L
Dolan he wants to increase the
number of IBM persons alloc-
ated to the school.
IBM and a number of other
business groups presently send
a number of their training per-
sonnel to courses at the school.
OBITUARY •
Albrecht, Mrs. John, of Zur-
ich, died on Saturday, Septem-
ber 26th at her home, in- her
79th year. She was the for-
mer Lavada Colosky.
The funeral was held in
Westlake funeral home; Zurich.
The interment was in St.. Pet-
er's Lutheran Cemetery, Gosh-
en Line,
Mrs, Albrecht is survived by
her husband, John, Huron-
view Home .Clinton; her
daughters, Mrs. Charles (Lu-
lu) -Scotchmer of 13ayfield, Mrs.
Frank (Rose) Butler of Zurich.
