This excited group of guides and scouts left
Bayfield bright and early Wednesday morning this
week for a day-long bus trip to Niagara Falls. The
- group Was under the direction of District Scout
Commissiorler Jack Gallant, Guide Capt. Mrs. Robert
Maloney and Guide Lieutenant Mrs. D. Warner.
Those in the group above include: Linda Scotchmer,
Niagara Falls

four intrepid horsemen, Adam
Flowers and two of his grand-
children, Debbie and Kim, ac-
companied by Dayle Scotchmer
left on horseback by the, north-
ern trail, en route to Goderich
where they camped overnight.

Mrs, Clara Dutot of Bruce-
field, died in Clinton Public
Hospital on August 751h, 1964.
Rev. Mains of Londesboro
and Rev. Plant of Brucefieltl
officiated -at the funeral on
August 17th .at the Ball, and,
Mitch Funeral 'Home in Clin-
ton.-
Pall-bearers were Dick Mc-
Cowart, 'Norman Baird, Waiter
Baird, Alex Mustard, Walter.
McBeth and Jack Deitz. Flow-
er bearers were Fred Dutot,
Bradley Dutot, Hans. Lepping-

The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Horton of
Hensall arid 'the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. G. M.

The Rev. Harold F. Currie
performed the service. Mrs.
John Turkheini of Zurich pro-
vided the wedding music and
the soloist was Miss Jean Hen-
derson of Hensall.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, chose a floor-
length gown of white French
Peru de Sole, A shallow scoop-
ed' neckline and long lily-point
sleeves highlighted the bodice.
A gently controlled skirt fell
from a princess waist. Guipure
lace enhanced an empire cut.
A delicate sweep train cascad-
ed from an empire back from
a tailored bow. A semi-pillbox
headpiece, touched with Gui-
pure lace appliques held the
bride's French pure silk illus-
ion fingertip veil. Her bridal
bouquet was a cascade of dark
pink roses and ivy.
Miss 'Sandra Busche, of Ex-
eter, 'sister of the groom, was
maid of honour. She wore a
dregs of light green peau
s'oie, with a controlled skirt
and a matching ,cummerbund.
Her bouquet was of light pink
gladioli.
Mrs, Merlin MacLean of Ex-
eter and Miss 1VIatherine Vick-
ers of Newtharket were brides-
maids. They were dressed sine
ilarly to the maid of honour
and they carried bouquets of
light pink 'gladioli.
Neil Busche of Toronto was
the best anon and Douglas
Busche of Kingston and Bruce
Horton- of Hensall were ush-
ers.
Dedication Set
For New Gates
At Zurich Fair
ZURICH — The Centennial
gates eft the 100th Zurich. Fall
Fatter will be dedicated this year
by Ontario Agricultural Minis-
ter, Hon.. W. A., Stewart, on
September 26.
The fair will be on Septem-
ber 26, Saturday, and Monday
the 28th, although hi-jinks will
precede it by one Week, Dm--
Mg 'that week a street dance
will be held during which Miss
Centennial Queen will be
crowned'.
Also expected for the dedi-
cation of the gates Saturday
are F. A. Lashley, director of
agricultural societies in Ontar-
io, Huron MP Elston Cardiff
and Ontario Highways- Minister
Charles MacNanghton.
A collection of antiques set
up to 'trace the history of the
Zurich area since the first fair
'in 1864 also will be dedicated.
A reception followed in the
Church Parlours. The bride's
mother received guests wear-
ing a dress of rose shantung
with matching accessories. Her
corsage was of pink roses and.
white carnations. The groom's
mother assisted wearing a blue
figured dress with light .beige
accessories. She wore a cor-
sage of yellow and white roses.
For a wedding trip to East-
ern Ontario, the bride changed
to a navy blue and white dress
with navy accessories. She
wore' a corsage of white gar-
denias.
Mr. and Mrs. Busche will
reside in London.
Mrs. Busche is a graduate
of Western University and. Mr.-
Busche is a graduate of Hain-
ilton Inttitiite of Technology.
Guests were present from
London, St. Catharines, Sarnia,
King-8ton, Detroit, Port Dover,
Newmarket, Kitchener, Toron-
to, Chatham, Palm.erston, Sea-
forth, Clinton, Exeter, Bruce-
field, and Hensall.

Legion, passed' away in West-
minster Hospital, London, on
Wednesday, August 26, at the
age of 70.
Mr. 'Hopson was gassed in
World War I in which he ser-
ved with the 84th Btn. R.Q.11„.
and he suffered increasing ill
health over the intervening
years.
Royal Canadian Legion mem-
bers were present at a mem-
orial service held August 28 at
the Ball and Mutch. Funeral
Home, Clinton.
The funeral service at the
Ball :and Mutch Funeral Home
on Saturday, AugUst 29 Was
conducted by Rev.' E. J. B.
Harrison, Bayfield, followed by
interment in Bayfield Ceme-
tery. •

ant Turner and George Bell-
chamber, all members of Br-
anch 1.40 .of the Royal Canad-
ian Legion.

Sturgeon Jr., and Jack. Ham-
mond.
Mr. Hopson, who was born
in London, England, is survived
by his widow, the former Ma-
bel Wealthy Johnson.
On Sunday, August 23, Mr.
and Mrs. Hopson were honored
by friends and relatives on the
occasion of their GOlden Wed-
ding anniversary.
Congratulations were receiv-
ed from Buckingham Palace,
Prime Minister Lester' Pearson,
Opposition Leader John Diet:
enbaker, Premier John Roberts
and other officials, and more
titan 150 persons paid their
respects.
At 'that time, Mr, Hopson
Was under doctor's care and
was able to see only a very few
special friends.
He was pre=deceased by a
son, Robert. David, who was
lost at sea in World War II,
Also surviving are two sons,
Oliver, plenburnie, Oat., and
