Former Resident
Of Bayfield
DETROIT — Mrs. Emma
Louise Plater, originally of
Bayfield, was killed recently
in a car accident here.
She was born in Bayfield,
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
John McLeod.
Mrs. Plater is survived by a
son, Michael Crane, of -the US
Air Force, and a daughter,
Mrs, Diane Schynick, of De-
troit,
Also surviving are brothers
Donald McLeod, of Bayfield;
Harold McLeod, of Hope, B.C.;
sisters Mrs. Lucy Desjardine,
and Mrs. Anne Lang, both of
Detroit, and Mrs. Elsie Smile
van, Port Huron, Michigan.
The funeral was July 31 at
Joe Wessel's Funeral Home,
Detroit.

Church Unit Picnic
Staged At Bayfield
The Wo-He-Lo Unit of Wes-
ley-Willis picnic was held Aug-
ust 5 at Mrs. Leslie Ball's cot-
tage at Lane 0' Pines, Bay-
field.
About 25 members who at-
tended were entertained with
games and contests and by
readings given by Mrs. William
Murch. A pot-luck supper was
served.
Townsend Reunion
Held On Sunday
Members of Amos and Eliza-
beth Townsend's family attend-
ed a dinner picnic August 9 at
Stratford Park. About 45 mem-
bers of the family were present.
They _came from London,
Stratford, Seaforth, West Hill,
Brantford and Winthrop. Sports
were supervised by Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Campbell of Win-
throp and Mr. and Mrs. Mur-
ray Culver, of Brantford.
The reunion president was
Lloyd Walters of London. The
secretary was Barbara Walters,
also of London. The 1965
Townsend reunion will be Aug-
ust 10 at Stratford Park.

The regular meeting of Hur-
on County Junior -Farmers was
held last Wednesday at 8:30
p.m. in the board rooms at the
Department of Agriculture of-
fice, Clinton.
Tom Cunningham was chair-
man. The roll call was answer-

of the Huron-Perth Field Day

held. Maurice Love reported
on the 50th anniversary cele-
