Clinton News-Record, 1964-07-16, Page 15Time Saving Machine?
This heavy line digging machine being used
by the Bell Telephone Company to lay the new dial
system cable line sunk in boggy ground beside
Highway S just east of Clinton last week. The
machine cuts a narrow trench, lays the line about
three feet below the surface of the ground, and
fills in the trench all in one operation. It was haul-
ed from the bog by a bulldozer.
