Mail Carrier Retires
Frank Burns recently retired
as mail carrier for RR 2 Dub-
lin, after 40 years service.
During that time, Mr. Burns
travelled more than 320,000
miles without an accident, most-
ly by Model. T Ford.

Ball Family Meet
Attended By 150
The annual Ball Reunion was
held on Sunday, June 14th at
Seaforth Lions Park. Approx-
imately 150 relatives were pres-
ent and a very enjoyable after-
noon was had.
Guests were present from,
Goderidh, London, Stratford,
Cooksville and surrounding dis-
tricts.
The children enjoyed a swim
in the pool while the men took
part 'in a ball game. Sporits
events were held, convened by
Merle and. Bill Statibury, Alan
Ball and Bob Ball,
Supper was' served under the
committee of Jean and Ed Dol-
rnage, Less and Olive Ball and
Dave and Mabel McLeod.
The business session was
presided over by the president,
Ernie Durnin.

meeting. The minutes were ap-
proved as read by the secretary,
Mrs, Henry Hunking. A 'thank-
you note was.. read from Mrs.
Tom Cunningham for remem-
bering her when, She was a pa-
tient In the hospital.
The treasurer, Mrs. Joe
Honking gave the financial
statement for 'the year. The
club supports a foster child in
Korea, donates to CNIB and
the March of Dimes, besides
giving to family which are
stricken with disaster.
The draw prize was won by
Mrs. Lillian Hunking. It had
been donated by Mrs. Lloyd
Penfound.. Plans were made Tor
the next meeting which will be
held at 'the home of Mrs. Lorne
Hunking in the form of a picnic.
In charge of the sport pro-
gram will be Mrs. George Sch-
neider, Mrs. Joe }banking, Mrs.
Tom Cunningham, and Mrs.
James Jackson. The lunch com-
mittee will be Mrs. Lorne Hunk-
ing, Mrs, Roy Daer, Mrs. Guy

Porter's Hill
School Picnic
Held June 23rd
SS No. 5 Porter's Hill School
held the annual picnic on Tues-
day 'evening, June 23 at Har-
bour Park, Gocterich, with over
70 present.
Lorna Miller read the ad-
dress and 'Colleen Lockhart pre-
sented a gift to the teacher,
Mrs. Bruce 1VIcClinchey, who is
leaving this Year.
The results of the races were

The bride, given in marriage
by Mr, Nelson Rolston, chose
a floor-length gown of silk peat/
de faille, The fitted bodice was
styled with elbow-length sleev-
es and a high scoop neckline
frosted with a band of Swiss
Guipure lace studded with seed
pearls. The controlled skirt
featured two tiny bows at the
waist. A square chapel train
with a matching band of lace
and seed pearls fell from the

urclay, June 27th at 1 p.m. The
Rev. Howard Plant officiated.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Irving F. Robin-
son of RR, 1, Varna, and the
groom, from Woodstock, is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter S.
White of RR 1, Lawrencetown,
Nova Scotia.

The bride, given in marriage
by her father, chose a floor-
length gown of white satin with
a chapel train. She' wore a seed
pearl head piece and a nylon
shoulder-length veil. She car-
ried a bouquet of white mums
with a white bible.

Cochrane of Clinton. He sang
"The Wedding Hymn" accomp-
anied at the organ by Miss
Jean Ivison.
The matron of honour was
Mrs. Lyllas Gaskell, sister of
the bride, from London. Mrs.
Gaskell wore a street-length red
silk ensemble with a matching
jacket and white accessories.
She wore a corsage of white
mums with red ribbon.
Earle White, Rodgeville was
best man for his brother. Ush-
ers were Gearge White 'and
Richard Robinson.
A reception was held on the.
lawn at the 'home of the bride's.
parents, 4th concession of St-
anley • Township.
The bride's mother wore a
costume of blue and white fig-
ured jersey with white acces-
sories. The bridegroom's mother
was unable to attend the wed-
ding.
Those Who assisted with. the
reception were Misses Gail,
Donalda and Bonnie Robinson,
cousins of the bride.
For a wedding trip to Nova
Scotia and Prince Edward' Is-
land, the bride changed into a
two-piece brown suit with a
white jacket and white acces-
sories.
Mr. and Mrs. White will live
in Woodstock.
The parents of S.S. No. 4,
Burford, Where Mrs. White
teaches, and the teachers of
Burford school held a mistel,,
