Mr. and Mrs. Gerben Tolsma were married in
the Christian Reformed Church, Listowel, on Sat-
urday, May 23, by the Rev. A, J. Stienstra, Exeter.
The bride is Betty Middel, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Reinder Middel, Listowel and her husband is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerben Tolsma, Hamilton.
They' are living at 128 Maplewood Ave., Hamilton.

Huron County To Provide Bursaries
To Six At University of Waterloo
Beginning this fall, Huron
County Council will provide
$100 bursaries to six students
from the county who are at-
tending or plan to attend the
UniVersity of Waterloo. • .
The bursaries are for stud-
ents with good academic rec-
ords Who are in need of fin-
ancial, assistance to enable them
to continue their studies at the
university level.
The bursary assistance for
the university was confirmed by
Warden Ralph Jewell. this
week.
"We are most pleased that
Huron County is taking this
leadership in helping. deserving
student's to finance their edu,

Clinton, has just been grant-
ed his Teacher's Certificate
with a "Specialist" in Physic-
al Education. John plans' to
teach Physical Education at
Grand Prairie Collegiate
Alberta. WO1 Reid, his farther
is Station Warrant Officer
at RCAF •Clinton, lives at
RR 5, Clinton, and is well
known in the field of sports.

erloo. "During the past year
there were 38 students from
Huron County enrolled at the
University and we know there
will be several more this fail."
Applications,for the new bur-
saries, which will be awarded
annually, are available at Hu-
ron County secondary schools,
and from John G, Berry, county
Clerk - Treasurer, Goderich;
James Kinkead, Inspector of
Public Schools, GoderiCh, and
A. P. Gordon, Registrar, Un-
iversity of Waterloo.
Of the 38 Huron County
students attending the Univers-
ity of Waterloo last year, 19
were enrolled in engineering,
11. in Science and eight in arts,

and Mutch funeral home, Clin-
ton on Thursday, May 21, by
the Rev, Grant Mil s, Ontario
Street United Church.
Pall-bearers were Edward
Wendorf, R. W. Gibbings, Sid
Lawson, Donald McLellan, Ger-
ald Glenn and Jack Brintnell.
Interment Was in Clinton Ceme-
tery.
Formerly Rose Anne Walker,
Mrs. Watts was born at Lon-
desboro 'on September 16, 1880,
the daughter of Elizabeth Mog-
ridge and Joseph Walker.
For the past three years they
have lived in Hibbert Township
and before that, were residents
of Clinton, where they attended
Ontario Street United Church.
• Death came on' Tuesday mor-
ning, May 19, after an illness
of about one year.
Surviving is one daughter,
Dorothy Brintnell, Hibbert
Township; one sister, Mrs.
Maude Reid and one grandson,
Douglas Brintnell.
A father was buying a watch
for 'Ms son's graduation gift.
"I suppose," said the clerk,
"that it's to be a surprise."
"I'll say it is," , replied 'the
father. "He's expecting a con-
vertible." •
