Saturday, May 30 from the
Stratford Hospital School of

Judging Attracts
180 Contestants
Over 180 contestants judged
10 classes of livestock on Sat-
urday, May 23 at the Seaforth
Fair Grounds, in Huron County
junior livestock judi,ling compe-
tition.
Fligh contestant in the com-
petition and the winner of the
Blatchford Feeds Limited Tro-
phy was Jim People, RR 4,
Seaforth, who scored 645 out of
a possible 700 points. Tied for
the runner-up placing were Miss
Amy Stewart, RR 5, Seaforth
and Miss Deanna Dale, RR 1,
Clinton.
The CNE shield donated by
the Canadian National Exhibi-
tion Association to the high
novree judge .was won by Jim
McAdam, RR 2, Wingharn. Don
McNeil, RR 6, Goderich, won
the Carnation Milk Company
Limited trophy for the top
dairy judge.
The CIL 'trophy for the top
swine judge was won by John
Bradley, RR 3, Goderich,
A special program in charge
of summer .assistant agricul-
tural representative, Murray
Shepherd, was held in the aft-
ernoon. for riblike judges. In-
stead of giving reasons for
placings they were instructed
by Mr. Shepherd and several
4-H club leaders on how to
judge.
Mrs, Lou Bailey, of Amherst-
burg, spent, the past week with
her mother, Mrs, J. R. Stirling.
Sid Bruinsma is in St. Joseph's
Hospital, London, undergoing
repair of a leg fracture.
Miss Marilyn Rathwell is at
home after completing a three-
year course in Home Economics
at Ryerson Institute, When the
fall term commences she will
be teaching this subject in Ed-
ith Cavell Senior School, River-
side. Marilyn 'is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Rath-

cent Sunday with his brother

Many 'happy returns of the
May 23rd birthday of Mrs.
Mair of London. Born on
the .6th concession, where she
lived until her marriage of more
than 50 years, the fernier Mag-
gie Elliott Cox, is the youngest
Child and only survivor of the
family of Mr. and Mrs. John
Cox.. Her father for many years
in succession was a member of
Goderich TownShip council as
councillor, reeve, and finally
Warden of the county.
Harry Greidanus, 14-year-old
son of Mr. and Mrs. James
Greidanus, of the 4th conces-
sion, is at present a patient in
Clinton Public Hospital, due
to a farm accident, He is
doing well and is expected to
get home during the present
week, wearing a cast.

party of sportsmen off on a
fishing trip in northern streams.

A group of about 25 Clinton
Kinsmen helped bail out the
Air Force Sunday night when
an act at the station's Hooten-
anny failed to chew in time for
the curtain.
The Kinsmen group perform-
ed before about 450 persons
who gathered 'to participate in
the sing-fest at the Recreation
Centre.
Don Gray of CFPL-TV Lon-
don, headlined 'the show, and
the "Queensmen" group also
performed.
Other groups included Sgt.
Mac McDonough's "Hospital
3"; Ron Farquhar, Sandra Wade
and Ruth,Cutler; Gordon Gra-
ham and Rose Brochu; Mary
