track and field meet in London,
Saturday,
Clinten's best showing was
made by Clare Magee who, on
the previous weekend had won
Huron-Perth .conference inter,
mediate boys championship. '
In WOSSA, Magee placed
third in the triple jump and
fifth in broad jump.
In the senior events, Barry
Elliott placed fifth in shot put,
In the 440 yard race, Brian
Levis and Ed Land finished
fourth and sixth respectively,
The Clinton senior team finish-
ed. sixth in the 440-yard relay.
Bonnie ,Boyes took third in
the junior girls running broad
jump, At' the H-P meet- she
set a conference record.
Alai in junior competition,
Linda Spano placed fourth in
the standing broad jump.
Clinton's only winner in
senior girls events was Bev
Beck who placed fifth in the
broad jump.
Blyth Arena

At the May meeting of Blyth
Community Centre Board, held
in the Library, 'the report of
treasurer John Young on the
winter's activities in the arena
was most gratifying.
It showed receipts of $2,575,
and expenditures of $1,595,
leaving a balance of $980.
Blyth Arena is equipped only
with natural ice, and the sea-
son of 1963-64 was an unusually
mild one.
,It was agreed to co-operate
with the local agricultural so-
ciety in the erection of cen-
tennial gates this year, between
the exhibit hall and: the arena,
marking the centennial of Blyth
Agricultural Society.
Legion Discusses
Much Business
At Short Meeting
Clinton Legion held a short
general 'meeting Monday, but
much business was discussed.
President K. W. Colphoun was
in the chair.
In future all general meet-
ings will start sharp at eight.
The Legion will buy crests
and numbers for jackets which
the juvenile hockey players are
purchasing themselves. A float
will be put in the Spring Fair
parade on Saturday.
George Campbell of the band
committee reported that the
Legion pipe band have request-
ed. some new uniforms and
equipment.
It was authorized that K. W.
Colquhoun act as brocker for
himself and H. C. Lawson, and
put all the hail and contents
insurance into a composite
policy.
The branch match.-play golf
tourney is now being organized
by Harold McPherson
K. Cr Cooke, a past president
and member of the town plan-
ning 'beard was added to the
Legion cenotaph committee.
Cam Proctor reported a letter
of inquiry had been 'sent to De-
partment of Public Works re-
garding the V lot to the north
of the present post office. Also
a request to have the two
memorial plaques remain on the
post Office until after Novem-
ber 11, 1964.
Percy Brown of Ways and
means committee announced
his sub-committees for the
drive-in bingo on June 9.
