Of the 16 trophies presented, 14 of them were won by tho Clinton. Feed Mill team, made up of Larry Kain, Bev Shewman, Art colison, Jack Irwin', '1311'1 Snaddlek and. Bruce Cooper;, Spares on ,the team el e Edwin (Joe) Cooper and 1<eh Johnston. The team won the league ehampionship, and !the Lorne• Drown. Motors Ltd, trophy of- fered for this feat. About 400 persons attended the banquet and presentations were made to the winners of various sports and activities held throughout the Winter months. The Clinton Thunderbolts team were awarded, crests and bars for their efforts and suc- cess throughout the hockey sea- son. The presentations for both the Thunderbolts and for the Rejects hockey team, who won -the inter-section competition were made by Wing Command,' er H. C. Vinnicornbe. Mr. Jelin Anstett presented the students of Barrack Block 75 With a trophy for their hoc- key victory :in the student com- petition. Individual awards were won by Cpl. Matthews who was the high scorer and LAC Mike Martin, the best goalie in 'the inter-section league, In 'the Student League, AC Dennis Audet and .AC Mike Chawran were awarded the high scorer and best goalie trophies 'by WO1 J. C. Reid., After three months of keen competition the student sports program wound up on April 15 and after the dust had settled on the gym floor, Barrack Block 75 emerged victors hav- ing edged out Barrack Block 89 by a narrow margin. This result saw presentations for basketball and bowling go to AC Yanew and AC Newlan for 75 and for bordenbail, New Trophy For Bell Telephone Bowling League Winners of the Harper tro- Phy, a small shield, in the. Mrs. Joan Harper, widow of Al Harper, a Bell employee Who was drowned in a boating acci- dent last summer.. The Squeakers, winners of the third series, and the BTU, championship 'trophy, were Herb Lyons, Donna Sharp, Nancy MacDonald, Bill Parsons; Gert Scott and Kay Sharp. In the curling competition the enthusia:sm, this year has been 'running at fever pitch and the league competition award, went to AC Goodman, and AC A. Jares accepted the playoff bonspiel trophy. The six regular team members each took home a trophy for the league championship, and also one each as playoff champions; they won the Lorne Brown Motors Ltd. trophy, and Art Colson won the high single trophy with a 341 roll.
