Feeder Calves
At Myth Fair
BLYTH — Feeder calf club
achievement day and sale will
be held September 22, the first
day of the Blyth fair, Robert
Henry, president of the Blyth
Agricultural Society announced.
Mr. Henry, a member of the
committee which visited 36
farms to inspect 54 calves, re-
ported the calves had all made
satisfactory progress. Feeder
calf club regulations were dis-
cussed by the directors of the
society recently and another
committee will 'undertake fur-
ther inspections.
Plans for the construction of
gates at the entrance to the
Blyth fairground's, to be erected
in recognition of the society's
centennial, were reviewed by
the directors.
Members of the committee in
charge of centennial arrange-
ments are Robert Henry, Lorne
Flunking, Ray Hanna, Robert
Carter, Boyd Taylor, James
McCall and Mrs, Dan Hallahan,
Members of the grain corn
field crop competition commit-
tee are George Watt, Lorne
Hunking and Albert Bacon,

On Probation
For Car Theft
A 14 ;year-old Clinton. area
boy charged with car theft was
placed on probation when he.
appeared in .juvenile court be-
fore Magistrate Glen Hays,
Q.C., Godenich, Thursday.
The boy admitted stealing a
car owned by Douglas Counsul,
of • the Clinton trailer court,
early last Wednesday morning,
The trailer court is situated
across from RCAF Clinton, and
was not at the Becker trailer
park as reported last week.
Court was told the boy jump-
ed . out of the car and was
picked up on the RCAF station
at Clinton after being chased
by OPP officers froni Go'der-
ich.

call to worship; Mrs. Wilfred
Biggin led' to worship, giving
an Iroquois prayer. The scrip-
ture lessons were read by .Mrs.
Irvine Tebbutt, and the Bible
study on the lives of the
eiples, James and John, was
taken by Mrs. Jack Yea and
Mrs. D. E. Glidden.
Mrs. McCullough then gave
a few thoughts on Spring, fel-.
lowed 'by reading of a poem en-
titled "My Faith". Roll call was
answered by a Spring thought
or verse. A duet was sung by
Mrs. William Norman and Mrs.
Edward Grigg.
The business was conducted
by the president, Mrs. Lloyd
Bond. The minutes were read
by the secretary, Mrs. Harry
Cudmore, and the correspond-
ence was react by Mrs. Frank
McCullough.
Reports of the presbyterial
held recently in Exeter were
given by Mrs. William Norman
and Mrs. Edward Grigg, A
school for leaders was announc-
ed to' be held' at Alma College,
St. Thomas, this summer.
Mrs. William Norman gave a
report of the social committee,
and. Mrs. Eldon Yeo reported
for -the supply committee. It
was passed to pack a bale after
the June meeting. There will
be an auction sale at the May
meeting.
The mission study on "Our
Neighbors, The Canadian. In-
dians", was reviewed by Mrs.
Frank McCullough and Mrs,
Francis Cantelon read a story,

of Lands and Forests, announc-
ed• to the convention that plans
are now going 'ahead for the
development of Point Farms
Provincial Park, four miles
north of Goderich,
Tender advertisements ap-
pear in this issue -for machinery

drilling tenders.
Mr. Dreyer and Ed. Mead-
ows, also of Hespeler, the chief
conservation officer for this
area, as a team, won a. log saw-
ing contest for the Huron dis-
trict over the Erie district
team. Mr. Meadowi is a reg-
ular speaker at conservation
and hunters' meetings in Clin-
ton and area,
Three persons' from this
area won $50.00 prizes at the
convention: George Falconer,

Rev, Davidson, Wingharn.
The Huron Fish and Game
club supported two resolutions
that were endorsed by the con-
vention.

Among the recent list -of
changes in the Ontario agricul-
tural extension service is the
announcement that Melville T.
Chamberlain has been named
assistant agriculture repre-
sentative in Wellington County.
A graduate of this year's
class at the Ontario Agricul-
tural College, Guelph, Cham-
berlain was summer assistant
in Huron last year.
