An unusual Ceremony took place recently at RCAF Clinton when Sgt.
Harvey Gauvreau, Non-Commissioned Officer in charge of Food Service' At-,
tendants, fulfilled a pleasant duty by presenting his son, AC1 Harry Gauvreau,
with a diploma on his successful completion of his cook's training at the area

der of the happy graduates. • AC1 Gauvreau is transferred to RCAF Station
Namao, while his father will retire at the middle of this month in Red Deer,

St. Augustine RC Church for
the wedding ceremony of Eu-
gene Francis Maclnnis of Lon-
don and Rose Marie Haggitt,
Auburn. The double-ring cere-
mony was performed by Rev.
Father R. MacLeod on April
4.
The bride is the daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs, William
Haggitt and the groom - is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Mac-
Innis, RR 2; Lucknow.
Given in 'marriage by her
bratherein-law, Mr. , Gordon
Powell, the bride looked lovely
in a white floor-Iength gown of
nylon -lace and net. The bouf-
fant skirt was decorated with
lace inserts and tiny self cov-
ered buttons were down the
back.
The bodice glowed with cup
sequins and simulated pearls on
the lace, long pointed sleeves
were buttoned at the wrist. Her
embroidered veil of silk illus-
ion was held in place by a
glimmering crown and she car-

As Couple Mark 25th Anniversary
AUBURN—Large silver wed-
ding rings, pink and white
streamers, white wedding bells,
-colorful balloons and a large
white floral arrangement made
an attactive setting 'in Auburn
Community Memorial Hall last
Saturday evening when Mr. and
.Mrs. Clifford Brown, Maitland
Terrace, Auburn, received
friends and relatives on the
occasion ot their 25th wedding
anniversary.
Guests were present from
Stratford, Monkton, Detroit,
London, Goderich, Blyth,
'Belgrave, Listowel, St,
Marys, Zurich and Wingham.
Mr. and Mrs. Brown welcom,
ed over 200 guests at the door
and the register was in the
charge of the bride's sister, Mrs.
Thomas Haggitt. During the
evening games of cards and
orokinole yvere enjoyed and
dancing to records run 'by Mr.
and Mrs. Glen Patterson, Gode-
rich.
Rev. Robert Meally, rector of
St. Mark's Anglican Church,
was the master of ceremonies
and was chairman for the pro-
gram. Readings were given by
Mrs. Donald Sprung, step-danc-
ing numbers by Stephen Hag-
gitt and a solo was sung by
Mrs. Wes Bradnock accompan-
ied by Miss Carole.Brown. Sev-
eral Beatle selections were sung
and acted by four girls in
suitable costumes by Carole
Browne - -Barbara --Sanderson;
Jannett Diable and Beverley
Brindley.
Mr. Meally gave a short ad-
dress of congratulations to the
bride, and groom of 25 years
and Harry Arthur, on behalf of
ried a white Bible -crested with
yellow rosebuds.
She was attended by Mrs.
Dan MacInnis, Auburn, sister-
in-law of the groom who chose
a ballerina length gown of pink
cry.stallette . with matching
headdress. She carried a hau-
quet of white 'mums.
Groomsman 'was Alex Mac-
Innis, Goderich, brother of the
groom and the ushers were
John .Maannis, Lucknow, bro-
ther of the groom and Thomas
Taylor, Wingham.
For a: reception •which fol-
lowed at the-Tiger Dunlop ,Inn,
the bride's' sister, Mrs. Gordon
Powell received the guests
wearing a pale blue dress, white
flower hat and white accessor-
ies and a pink rose cot-Sage.
She was assisted by the
groom's mother who chose a
blue figured silk jersey, beige
hat and accessories and a red
rose corsage. •
Following the reception the
couple left for a trip to the
United States and the - bride
donned a wedgewood blue wool
channel -suite, white flower hat
and accessories and a yellow
rose corsage. On their return
they will reside in London.
Guests were preSent from De-
troit, London, Kitchener, Gode-
rich, Kincardine; Wingham and
Atibnim,
the neighbours, presented • them
with a purse of money. Many
other gifts of silver were also
presented by other friends and
relatives.
Mr, and Mrs. Brown-thanked
everyone for their gifts and
for coining out and eelebrating
this event with them. Mrs Ern-
est Patterson, Goderich, and
Mrs. Beverley French, Detroit,
sisters of qiie bride, assisted .-
in opening the gifts.
Following -the program, a
turkey dinner was served by
the members of the Anglican
Church Guild. The buffet lun-
cheon table was centred with
a beautiful three-tiered wed-
ding Cake decorated for the
occasion.

Goderich; Mrs, Beverley Mc-
Laughlan, Listowele and Mrs.
Gerald Blackman, St. Marys.

at the home of the bride, in
Auburn, April 4, 1939. Mrs.
Brown was the former Rita
.Beadle, the youngest daughter
of Mrs. Beadle and the late
,George• ,Beaclle, and Mr. Brown
is the son of the late Mr.

The attendants were the late
Miss Kathleen Patterson and
Kenneth Brown, Monkton.
Following their marriage
they lived at Monkton, Auburn,
Walton, and-11 years ago- they

,many years Mr. Brown worked
on the CPR and then operated
the Fina station for a'number
of years. He is at present' em-
ployed in. Goderich with the

Thursday from the RCAF,
F/L Shepherd lives at 58
Market Street, Goderich, and
until recently has been a val-
ued staff instructor at the
RCAF SChool of Instructional
Technique, Clinton.
Art is well known in the
Kincardine, Goderich, Clinton,
Seaforth 'area as a "caller" at
square dances. This is en un-
usual avocation for -a man' born
in New Zealand, as Art was.
F/L Shepherd served as a
Wireless Air Gunner during
World War II and his peace
time service was spent as a
member of the Ground Observ-
ers. A versatile officer, he has
acted as a Press Relations of-
ficer in addition to his primary
dut-Y as an SIT Instructor.
Art plans to settle in the
local area.
