at several pre-nuptial events.
The bride-elect is the only

trousseau tea for her daughter
at her home. Receiving with

Carol Eileen Pepper end An-
thony LeBeau were united in
marriage on Tuesday, March 31
at 12 o'clock at St. Joseph's
ed the bride-elect at a shower
at Turners' Church. Mrs. Mid-
dleton, RR 3, Clinton; was
hostess at a shower at her
home for the bride-elect with
Mrs. Merner and Mrs, Caldwell
as co-hostesses.
The staff of Air Marshall.
Hugh Campbell Public School,
RCAF Station, Clinton, held a
presentation for the bride-elect.
Several other area schools
where the bride-elect is music
supervisor, presented her with
gifts.

The blide 'is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. William R. Pep-
per, RR 3, Seaforth, and the
groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Mac LeBeau, RR 1, Bruce-
field.
Rev, Father S. E. McGuire
performed the ceremony and
the wedding music was played
by Mrs. Berne McKinley, North
Bay. Soloist was Miss Sharon
Strong, Seaforth, who sang
"The Wedding Prayer", "Wed-
ding Hymn" and "Bridal Pray-
er",
The bride,- given in marriage
by her father, chose a full
length gown of chantilly lace
over bridal taffeta with a flit-
ted bodice trimmed with se-
quins and pearls. Rhinestone
crown and elbow length veil
were worn. She carried a
mauve orchid corsage on a
white Bible.
Mrs. David Middleton, sister
of the groom, was matron of
honor, and wore a pink crystal
charm sheath with matching
full overskirt, .a matching veil
hat, and white shoes and gloves.
The bridesmaids were Mrs.
Garry Merner, sister of the
groom; Miss Marlene Pepper,
cousin of the bride and Mrs.
Bert Pepper, sister-in-law of
the bride.
They wore identical dresses
to that of the matron of hon-
or, carrying a crescent of
white 'mums trimmed with pink
tulle.
Larry LeBeau; brother of the
groom, was best man. Ushers
were Morris Medd, Bob Cald-
well and Bert Pepper, all of
Clinton.
For a reception at Clinton
Hotel, the bride's mother re-
ceived the guests in a pink
three-piece linen suit trimmed
with lace. She chose black and
white accessories and a corsage
of white carnations.
The groom's mother assisted.
in a beige sheath and matching
jacket with brown accessories.
She wore a corsage of yellow
carnations.
To travel to Kentucky, the
bride chose a white wool boucle
suit with black accessories and
a mauve orchid corsage. She
carried a red spring coat.
The couple will reside at the
groom's farm at RR 1, Bruce-
field. The bride holds a degree
from the Conservatory of Music,
University of Toronto.

Alvin Mielhausen
Alvin Miethausen, 379 James
Street, who came 'to Clinton
last August to assume the posi-
tion of- finishing foreman at
Sherlock-Manning Piano, pass-
ed away in Clinton Public
Hospital on Monday, March 30.
He was 53 years old and had
been ill for only a brief period.
He came to Clinton after
having 'worked as finishing
foreman with Wright-Spiesz
Furniture Company, Hanover,
for over 20 years.
The deceased was a member
of the Hanover Fire Brigade as
the driver for over 20 years
as well, and was a member of
First St. Matthew's Lutheran
Church in that community.
He was born in Elmwood, the
son of the late Frederick Miel-
hausen and Elizabeth ,Schlegel.
He is survlived by his wife,
the former Ella Huenemoeder,
one son, William, Hanover; sis-
ter, Mrs. Oscar (Laura) Wen-
doll, Hanover. A brother and
sister predeceased.
The funeral will be held 'to-
day (Thursday) at 2:00 p.m.
from the Richardson funeral
home, 490 Tenth Ave., Hanover.
Burial will be in Hanover
cemetery and the service will
be conducted by the Rev. W. E.
Bok..

who teaches school in Kitchen-
er, was with her parents, Me.

With other projects on 'the
Fraser Stirling farm in full
swing, the bessman is quite
busy delivering apples to stores
and neighbours.
Mrs, 'Bruce McClinchey, the
local sehoolmarm, has confirm-
ed that her resignation has
been handed to the trustees
effective at the close of the
present term.
Contacted by telepliOne, Mrs,
Eleanor Picot, now in Gacle-
rich, reports that her health is
improving and she is looking
forward 'to coming to her home
on the 5th concession when
warm weather arrives.
Brenda Stirling spent a few
days' With Goderich relatives
last week.

Kinettes Plan
Cooking School
The regular meeting of the
Kinette Club was held at the
home of Mrs. Larry 'Jones on
Tuesday, when two cancer films
were shown by Miss McQueen,
chief operator,at the Bell Tele-
phone Co.
Tickets were passed out to
be sold for the Hydro Cooking
School to be held on May 6
at the Legion Hall which the
Dinettes are sponsoring.
Mrs. Malt Edgar, chairman
of this year's Marc hof Dimes,
reported that the total passed
last year's figure and reached
the grand total of $928:32.
Mrs. Bill Fleming read a letter
from the Kinette's foster child
in Africa.

Wo-He-Lo Unit of Wesley,-,.
Willis UCW . was held in 'the
church with 18 present. Mrs.
W. Murch, leader, presided and
opened the meeting with a
poem.
Miss L. Walkinshaw read the
scripture, Miss F. Jamieson
read an Easter message and
Mrs. J. Cox led in prayer.
Mrs. McGill gave a very int-
eresting talk on the life of
Martha.
Roll call for the next meet-
ing will be answered by giving
something new, or nearly new,
for a child's bale.
Nineteen home and four
hospital calls were reported
and an invitation to the Sea-
forth UCW was accepted,
The Unit was also invited to
join with the Fidelity Unit foe
their meeting, May 12.

The bride .is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Reginald L. Bea-
vers, Exeter, while the groom's
parents are-Mr. and Mrs. Lorne
Brown, Clinton. .
Given in' marriage .by - her
father, 'the bride' chose a floor
length gown of pure white peau
de sole. The basic dress was
styled with a slianline sheath
skirt, and a strapless neckline,
with shoe-string straps. Over
the gown was worn' a box-style
jacket of peau de sore.
This jacket 'featured a sab-
rine neckline and elbow-length
sleeves, edged with imported
Argentine lace, as was the hem-
line of the jacket.
To complete her bridal en-
semble, the bride chose a pill-
box headdress of peau. de sole
and matching lace to hold her
pure silk illusion finger tip veil.
She carried a cascade of pink
delight roses • and wore -a "cul-
tured pearl necklace and ear-
ringse the gift of the groom.

Matron of honor was Mrs,
Howard Hamlin, Toronto, who
wore a light blue street-length
shantung dress with empire
waistline, bateau neck and a
matching pill-box headdress.
Her flowers consisted of a
nosegay of white 'mums and
'pink sweetheart rose buds.
Thomas Duff, London, was
best man and the guests from
Morrisburg, Gananoque, Toron-
to, London, Seaforth, Clinton
and Exeter, were ushered by
the 'twin brothers of the bride,
Robert and William Beavers,
Exeter.
The reception was held at the
home of the heide's parents and
Mrs. Beavers chose a gold silk
organza over taffeta dress and
a gold brocade jacket. She
had beige accessories.
The groom's mother assisted
in receiving the guests, donned
in a pink silk shantung en-
semble with matching accessor-
ies.
For a wedding trip to Nas-
sau, the bride changed to a
beige, two-piece linen dress,
beige coat and accessories and
a corsage. of yellow rose buds.
Before departing she pre-
sented her bouquet to her
great-aunt, Miss Alice Eaerett.
The couple will reside in
Clinton.
