Elect OffiCers
AUBURN—The Auburn Ex-
plorers met in the Sunday
school room of the church with
an attractive setting of a hand-
painted stained glass window,
white candles and white lilies
in the background for their
worship centre, This was in the
charge of Mrs. Robert Arthur,
and Nancy Brown gave the call
to worship. The Easter story
was read by Gail Seers, Linda
Snowden, Karen East, Linda
Jefferson and Shelley Grange.
The offering was received by
Cathy Schneider and Donna
Chamney. Mrs, Arthur and
Mrs. Donald Young presented
the first red stars to Marian
Armstrong, Nancy Brown, Lori
Johnston, Marie Plunkett and
Gail Seers. The firSt blue stars
were presented to Linda Reed
and to Linda Sproul.
The senior girls were present-
ed with their second blue stars:
Cathy Schneider, Karen East,
Shelley Grange, Jeanette John-
ston, Linda Snowden, Linda
Jefferson, Donna Chamney and
Donna BaeChler. The Explorers
finished 'their crafts under 'the
direction of Mrs. Arthur
Grange.
The election of officers took
place and is as follows: Chief
Explorer, Linda Snowden;
Keeper of the Log, Marian
Armstrong; Keeper of 't he
Treasury, Kathy Schneider;
Chief Counsellor, Mrs. Maurice
Bean, 'assisted by Mrs. Arthur

Present Drama
An Easter scripture drama
called "For Our Men and Our
Salvation", was presented inthe
Auburn Baptist Church by ten
members of the Clinton Baptist
Hi-Fellowship group,
The •soloist was Mr. L, Salz-
man and the pianist was Miss
Cheryl Cochrane. Mr. B. Kiel
assisted with the drama and
the minister, Mr. Craig Peters,
introduced the program and
pronounced the benediction.
The dhurCh was 'beautifully
decorated with a large bouquet
of white and yellow 'mums and
potted white hyacinths.
Following the service a social
time was held in 'the Sunday
Ladies Groups

At Thankoffering
AUBURN—Easter lilies form-
ed a lovely setting for the
Easter Thankoffering held in
Knox United Church with
guests present ,from • Dungan-
non, Nile, Westfield, Donny-
brook and the other church or-
ganizations in the village.
The guests were welcomed by
Mrs. Bert Craig, president of
the Auburn UCW, assisted by
Mrs. Fred Toll, The call to
worship was a poem, given by
the leader of the service, Mrs.
Arthur Grange, She also wel-
comed 'the guests.
Mrs. Norman Wightman was
organist, the scripture lesson
was read by Mrs. John Durnin
and followed by prayer by Mrs,
William J. Craig.
A solo, "Were You There?"
was sung by' Mrs. Ernmerson
Rodger and the offering was
received by the ushers, Mrs.
Stanley Ball and Mrs. Worthy
Young. This was dedicated 'by
Mrs. George Millian.
Speaks On Love
The special speaker of the
evening was Mrs. Charles Lew-
is. She chose for her inspiring
Easter message — Love. She
stated that if God had not lov-
ed us, 'there would have been
no Easter, and went on to de-
scribe the qualities of true love
and how we all can be dis-
ciples if we but follow the tea-
chings of Jesus as told by -St.
Paul.
Miss Margaret R. Jackson
thanked Mrs. Lewis for her
Easter message.
Mrs. Bert: Craig took charge
of 'the short business period.
The 'treasurer, Mrs. Norman
McDowell presented -the bills
which were moved paid and a
music committee was named,
consisting of Mrs. William J.
Craig and Mrs. James Jackson.
Following the meeting a soc-
ial hour was enjoyed with Mrs.
James Craig and 'Mrs. George
Millman at 'the tea-stable, A
beautiful pink hydrangea cen-
tred the tea-'table and members
of unit three served lunch.
Thanks for the invitation and
excellent meeting was expres-
sed 'hy the guests: Mrs. Charles
Smith, Westfield; Mrs. Ray-
mond Finnigan, Dungannon;
Mrs. Graham McNee, Nile;
Mrs. Hilliard Jefferson, Donny-
