BAYFIELD - A very enjoy-
able, yet impromptu Christmas
party and concert was held in
the Parish Hall of Trinity
Church on the Monday even-
ing after Christmas.
The large Christmas tree
fully decorated and left for the
occasion 'by the Trinity .Club of
the church added very much to
the effectiveness of the even-
ing and especially later in 'the
evening when Santa Claus made
a special return visit 'to Bay-
field for the occasion to bring
gifts for all the pupils and the
usual well filled and received
bags of candy and an orange.
The after-Christmas arrival
was not dimmed as the child-
ren received him with: a great
thrill in screams of ecstacy and
enjoyment which made the
heart of the older, people re-
cognize more and more just
what this means to children
even 'in these more or less
sophisticated years.
The chairman for the even-
ing was the rector, the Rev. E.
J. B. Harrison and the success
of the evening was in a large
measure due 'to the efforts of
Mrs. Larson, the acting Sunday
School superintendent.
Miss Shirley Pierson ac-
companied on the piano for the
singing of several. Christmas
.carols. and 'hymns arid the pro-
Manger was sung .y a trio of
Monica Gemeinhardt, Colleen
Merrier and Rhea Sturgeon and
'the same song was sung under
a different setting (staged by
Mary McFadden), comprised of
three 'of the very little girls,
Shirley McFadden, Heather and
Maureen Matthews and the
older girls doing the vocal
parts, they being a trio of Mary
McFadden, Lea Anne McLeod
and Sandra' Telford.
Linda Pierson sang the lov-
ely and timeless Christmas
carol "Carol Sweetly Carol"
with 'the audience joining in
the choruses. Heather Matt-
heWs sang unaccompanied,
t"Jeetis Bids Us Shine."
A lively program of games
-followed under 'the direction of
Mrs. William Parker for the
first part and under Miss Shir-
ley Pierson for the last part.
The Trinity Guild served and
provided most substantial re-
freshments which appealed to
all present.
