The first student dance of
the year was held last Friday
night in the school gymnasium,
sponsored by the Green House;
the money obtained from the
admission charge and selling of
refreshments will be used in
that particular House for fut-
ure student activities.
Approximately 200 students
filled the floor as the Hard
Time Dance got underway, not
a very substantial number, but
various other activities on the
same night drew some of the
students away.
Let's hope that at the next
dance the gymnasium will be
three times as full!
Music was being piped into
the cafeteria during one set of
lunch periods last week. It is
said that music soothes the sav-
age beast, who's savage — ex-
cept perhaps the teachers?
Anyway, it should be sugges-
ted to the board that candel-
abras should accompany this
music while dining.
Of course this would apply
only to the senior students,—
and maybe some of the teach-
ers who still possess a spark of
romance.

opening remarks she welcomed
the visitors from the Seaforth

Prayer, the minutes of the last
meeting were read by the sec-
retary, Mrs. Charles Nelson,

naming a favourite TV pro-
gram.

report on the WI rally held in
Goderich which a number of
the Clinton members attended.
She read the resolutions to
be presented at the area con-
vention to be held in London,
November 4 and 5. It is to be
hoped that several members
will attend this convention.
Mrs. Ernie. Radford wished
for as many-members as pos-

"dessert" course to be held in
the board rooms on November

The seniors first set was in
their favour as they grasped
victory over Exeter,

their second set over St. Marys
with the scores of 11.13„ '13-8
and 15-7.
The next set was close —
too close, as Central was poun-
ced down by Stratford North
Western with scores of 1244,
12-10 and 740.
Clinton then retained their
strength, rebounding to .defeat
Goderich 13-6 and 16-14.
The last game might have
cinched a first place ,for Cent;••
ral, had they just three more
points. The first game of the
set fell to Clinton 12.7, how-
ever, Central, Stratford fought
back to win the next game
12-6.
The deciding play was fought
with only one thing in mind—
victory—but the victory sway-
ed to Clinton's opponents who
captured the final struggle 11-9,
Top scorer for the seniors
was Joan Irwin boasting of
46 points, while •Lyn Brown's
