A committee composed of
Legion Chaplain. Rev, D.
.Lane, first 1,1:lee-president K. W.
Colquhouri. and Cam Proctor,
was appointed to meet with
Clinton Cemetery board to ar-
range for additional veterans'
burial plots at the cemetery..
Clinton Legion will .again
sponsor public speaking for
public and secondary school
students in Ontario Legion
CoMmand competitions,
Percy Brown stated that a
series of Saturday • afternoon
movies begins this coming Sat-
urday at the hall. Admissions
will be 15 cents for children
and 25 cents for adults, These
shows at 2:15 on alternate Sat,
ordays were begun last fall,
The shows are repeated down-
stairs in the hall in the evening
for Legion members and guests.
And on Sunday evening are
shown at •Huronview.
Hall rental revenue is- ap-
proximately $300 ahead of last
year, according to Cam Proc-
ter. To date the hall has
brought in $1,374 in rent com-
pared with over $1,100 last
year and $700 two years ago,
Much discussion followed 'on
whether to continue renting the
hall for public dances. Some
complaints had been received
following a public dance last
week.
One member said the Legion
lost more than the rental money
in public relations and respect
in the neighborhood. Some of
the questions asked were:
Should we raise rental prices?
Are the town policemen check-
ing public dances? Is the Leg-
ion responsible for goings-on
outside the hall when rented for
public dances?
A past president claimed the
branch should continue renting
to public functions, as the hall
is taking the place of a town
hall.
Teen Town dances every oth-
er Friday evening at the hall
have been well chaperoned in
recent weeks, as have been the
dances at CHSS on the alter-
nate Fridays.
