Church Women held their
October meeting' at the home
of Mrs. Edgar Allan with an
attendance of 22.
The meeting was opened with
devotions taken by Mrs. M.
WilSon and Mrs, D. Treibner.
Mrs, Treibner read a poem and
Mrs. Wilson read the Scripture
and gave a reading on
"Thanks". A hymn was sung
and prayer by Mr§e Treibner.
Mrs. W. Broadfbot, leader,
then took charge of the busi-
ness part, reminding all mem-
bers of the rummage sale on
November 9. Also the Thank-
offering Meeting on. October
30.
The secretary's report was
given by Mrs. John Henderson
and the treasurer's report and
offering taken by Mrs. E. Sil-
lery.
Miss Allan, Hamilton, then
showed beautiful pictures of
her trip to Hawaii.
Refreshments were served by
the committee: Mrs. E. Allan,
Mrs. J. Henderson, Mrs. H.
Taylor, Miss Allan and Mrs.
T. A. Dutton.
The November meeting will
be held at the home of Mrs.
H. Taylor. The roll call
"Peace", Mrs. Broadfoot mov-
ed a vote of thanks to the hos-
tesses Mrs. Allan and Miss Al-
lan.

Warrant Officer Edward
"Ted" Davies, WO in charge
of Radar Ground Training at
Radar and .Communication
School, and a prominent Clin-
ton Lion was transferred on
October 1 to RCAF Station
Gander, Newfoundland.
Ted recently purchased the
property of Donald C. Colqu-
houn, RR 5, Clinton, where
his wife, Helen, and Baugh-,
ters, Gwen and Joan, will re-
side while he is at Gander.
WO2 Davies was born in
Sarnia and enlisted in the
RCAF in 1940. He served
four years overseas in World
War II, on radar site in
England and India.
WO2 Davies assisted with
the direction of Station Clin-
ton dependents swimming
program during his stay here.
He served three consecutive
terms on the Sgts' Mess
committee.
In addition to his regular
station duties; and interest in
Adastral Park activities, 'be
was active and enthusiastic
in the town of Clinton.
He had three years perfect
attendance with the local
Lions Club, acted as Lion
Tamer and served two years
on the Lions Board of Direc-
tors. He also served on the
Board of Directors of Gode-
rich Community Concert As-
sociation, three seasons as
RCAF Clinton representative.

Amid autumn settings of
rust and gold, the Protestant
Chapel at RCAF Clinton was
the scene of a pretty wedding
when vows were exchanged be-
tween Sharon Ann Hodges and
Harvey Allen Carter before the
Protestant chaplain, F/1„
(Rev.) S. E. Swaren, on Sat-
urday.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Hodges,
Clinton, and the groom's par-
ents are Mr. and Mrs. Ivan
Carter, Londesboro.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a full
length portrait gown of white
norganza lace with imported
Swiss appliques and styled with
a jewelled neckline and lily-
point sleeves.
The skirt was princess lined
and her triple tiered veil of
hand-rolled tulle illusion was
held in place by a crown of
pearls and crystals.
She carried a cascade of red
roses and stephanotis.
Miss Lori Spano, Adastral
Park, was maid of honour and
the bridesmaid was Miss Judi
Watkins, Clinton. They were
gowned alike in gold bell-shap-
ed peau de soie with an over-
skirt.
Their head-pieces were mat-
ching rose peau de soie and
they carried cascades of bronze
baby 'mums.
Miss Debbie Hodges, sister of
the bride, was the flower girl
and wore a white dress of silk

ton, Bill Shaddick, Londesboro
and Jerry Baird, Brucefield.
A reception followed at
RCAF Clinton and the bride's
mother received the guests
wearing a romance-blue sheath
of peau de soie with matching
three-quarter length coat with
'black and white accessories and
a corsage of pink carnations.
She . was assisted by the
groom's mother who chose a
dark green and black rayon
brocade dress with jacket to
match. Her accessories were
black and she carried a corsage
of red carnations.
For travelling to Eastern On-
tario, the bride donned a dark
brown knitted wool suit with
brown accessories and a cor-
sage of orange delight roses.
The couple will reside in
Clinton.
Guests were present from
Halifax, Cumberland, Ottawa,
Kingston, Napanee, Toronto,
Guelph, Peterboro, London and
surrounding area.
