Receives Life Membership. Award

MrS. William Gibson, Wrox-

her son-in-law and daughter,
Mrs, Arnold Miller, a long-
time friend and WA associate,
had the honour of pinning the
gold membership pin on Mrs.
Middleton and Mrs. Ben Mc-:
Cullough presented her with
the framed certificate of Life
Membership.
Mrs. Deeves presented Mrs,
Middleton with a card bearing
the names of the WA members
at St. James Church, past and
present.
Completely taken by sur-
prise, Mrs. Middleton said, "I
can't begin to voice my ap-
preciation, I am proud to wear
this pin and to accept this cer-
tificate."
The singing of the WA hymn
and the benediction pronounced
by the rector concluded the
meeting.
Mrs. Middleton was also giv-
en a large cake decorated with

Remembered by members
during the one minute silence

gar Gibson, Clinton, who pass-
ed away in Westminster Hospi-
tal, London on October 4.

on November 4 to visit the
CFPL studio to partake in "La-
dies Day", a new program tele-
vised Tuesday and Thursday
afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
One team of bowlers will go
to the Exeter Bowling Tourna-
ment on Wednesday, October
30.
The mystery prize was won
by Mrs. Bill Holland and the
monthly draw was unclaimed,
making $6 for the next meeting
November 11. A penny sale
will be held following this
meeting, the proceeds of which
will go to the sports fund.
A delicious lunch was serv-
ed by the October committee
with Mrs. Bill Chambers in
charge.

ing was exceptionally well-at-
tended as all the members
were present. Present also
were former members, Mrs.
Charles Wise, Mrs. Rowden,

David Middleton were also pre-
sent, bringing the number to
25.
All in all, a meeting to be
remembered.

The Women's Auxiliary of St.
James Church, Middleton, met
Wednesday evening, October 2,
at the home of Mrs. Gordon
Rathwell, Clinton.
The president, Mrs. Ray
Wise, was in the chair and
opened the meeting with the
singing of a hymn with Mrs.
Edward Wise at the piano.
The scripture lesson was read
by Mrs. John Cole and the min-
utes by the secretary, Mrs.
John Grigg. Mrs. A. Dutot pre-
sented the financial report.
The ladies were reminded of
the Fall Sessions of the Dean-
ery of Huron to be held in
Trinity Church, Bayfield, on
Thursday, October 24 at 2:30
p.m.
Mrs. Milton Steepe read a
lovely poem, "When the Maples
Flame With Crimson" and also
a reading on the Thanksgiving
season.
Mrs. M. Nediger favoured
with two solos "I've Done My
Work" and "Paraphrase on the
Lord's Prayer," with Mrs. Row-
den at the piano.

The president then announc-
ed that this was a very special

The first life membership pin and certificate
ever presented by the Women's Auxiliary of St.
James Church, Middleton, was presented to Mrs.
Fred Middleton at a special meeting held in Clinton
last week. Mrs. Middleton has been an active
member of the group for the -past 45 years. Shown
making the presentation from the left are members
of the group: Mrs. Ben McCullough, Mrs. Middle-
ton; Mrs. Arnold Miller and Wirs David Deeves.

others as a token of apprecia-
tion as a gift from St. James
WA to Mrs. Middleton in rec-
ognition of outstanding service.
