After a discUssion period it was agreed that all delegates take it back to be voted on at the next meeting and findings tak- en by delegate to the Area Con- vention, Miss Patricia Damude-report- ed on the 4-H Clubs and stat- ed that there are 400 girls taking the "Milky Way" with 76 leaders. W, 3. ten Hoopen led in the devotional period and spoke on the parable of the good seed. In his inspirational mes- sage he spoke of the woman's place in the home and the im- portant part she plays in the world to-day. Mrs. John MacLean, Sea- forth, brought greetings from the Provincial Board and stres- sed that all delegates take a copy of the resolutions to the area convention. She asked for more support for the Adelaide Hoodless home fund and stres- sed a special project for Can- ada's centennial year. Mrs. William McKee sang two solos accompanied by Mr. L Dotterer and Mrs. M. Driver played two violin solos. In the business period, Mrs. Otto Popp was elected secre- tary-treasurer of the Rally and next year's meeting will be held in South Huron, the first Monday in October. The dele- gates ' were instructed to take back to their branches whether to establish another pivvincial scholarship for the centennial year or give further help to the children of Huron County under the care of CAS. Mrs. Wilfred Mack, Creditor), provincial convener of historic- al research, spoke on the estab- lishing of a Historical Society and the secretary was insruct- ed to write to County Council about having one in Huron. The,guest speaker of the day was Rev. K. E. Taylor, rector of St. George's Anglican Church, Goderich, who spoke on the problem which is being faced today with the education of the adult retarded person. He told about the schools which ' are now established throughout the district but stated that at the age of 18 years no more training is yet available. He surprised the delegates by Stating that in Canada today there are 540,000 mentally re- tarded persons; another 15,000 being born this year through- out the country. He outlined the work that is being done and challenged his audience to assist in overcoming this tragic problem which can happen to any family with no respect to race, status or class. Dr. Taylor also stressed that ignorance, fear and indifference must be replaced by respect and affection when the retard- ed child or adult returns to his or her home community. Bailey and the bride was given in marriage by her bro- ther, Douglas Bailey, Jr. She chose an original port- rait gown of white sateau peau, bodice fashioned scoop neck- line, long sleeees of lily point, with a controlled skirt with embroidered leaves of white peau de sole. It featured a bustle back with chapel train and she wore a tiara of seed pearls with shoul- der length veil. She also car- ried a white Bible topped with corsage of white gardenias and red rosebuds and completed her outfit with a single strand ,of cultured pearls and earrings to match, the gift Of the groom. Maid of honour was Miss Bobbie Ann Bailey, Mitchell, who wore a dress of sheath style of willow green peau de faille with tiered waist skirt with a band and bow at the waist line. Completing the en- semble was a pill-box hat with veil in matching colour. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Fay Fisher, Scarboro; Miss Carol Ann Dungey, Mitchell; Miss Luella Blair, Stratford. Miss Wendy Rathwell, RR 3, Clinton, was the flower girl and the ring bearer was Master Randall. Bailey, Mitchell. Alec Ostrom, RR 1, Varna, was groomsman and the guests were ushered' by Wayne Stirl- ing, RR 3, Clinton; Richard Os- trom, RR 1, Varna; John Cook, Mitchell. His price of $58,600 was the lowest bid received. Other tenders came from firms in Stratford and Galt, The bride's mother chose a forest green brocade dress with antique gold accessories, while the groom's mother was attired in a brown wool boucle suit with antique gold accessories. For a wedding trip to the Southern United States, the bride donned a scarlet suit of wool-mohair boucle with hat to match and back accessories. They will reside in Mitchell, where the groom is employed by Stacey Brothers. The bride was also employed in the office of the firm.
