Local Couple Exchange Vows
Mrs. H. Whiteman
KIPPEN--Word was received
by Miss Mabelle Whiteman of
the sudden passing of her' sis-
ter-in-law, Mrs. Herbert L.
Whiteman, at her home in Wil-
lowdale, Toronto, on Saturday,
August 31.
'She was the former Alice
Hart, daughter of the late Rev.
John Hart, Methodist minister
of the Chiselhurst-Kippen-Hills-
green charge for several years,
living at the parsonage in Hen-
At that time she assisted in
the choir of Carmel Presbyter-
ian Church where her sister,
Gertrude Hart (Mrs. Perce
Madden) was choir leader.
Mrs. Whiteman is survived
by her husband and one daugh-
ter, Margaret, Toronto. '
Funeral services were held in
Toronto on Tuesday, September
3 with burial at Hensall Union
Cemetery on Wednesday. Rev.
Plant officiated at the burial.
The family is well known
here and have the sympathy of
their many friends.

Canada for the Anglican' Con-
gross held , in Toronto August
13,23, was born in Karachi of
Hindu parents, After gradua-
tion from school and college
he joined the 'Wilily business
of publishing and boolcselling.
At the age of 17, he began
to be dissatisfied with Hinduism
and, for nine years, studied Is-

rison and the late Mr. Morrison,
Clinton, and the groom's par-
ents are Mr. and Mrs. Leonard
McGee, R.P. 3, Clinton,
Rev. Clifford Park officiated
at the double-ring ceremony and
the bride was given in marriage
by her cousin, Percy. Blundell,'
Goderich.
She chose a ballerina length
gown of white lace over taffeta
with rounded neckline, a fitted
bodice, and three-quarter length
Mr. R. W .Carbert, secretary-
manager of... the Ontario Fed-
eration of Agriculture, announ-
ces the appointment of Sydney
"Syd" Kleiman • to the Field
Staff of the OFA. Mr. Klei-
man's territory will include the
counties of Oxford, Waterloo,
Brant, Norfolk, Haldimand,
Welland, Lincoln and Went-
worth.
Mr. Kleiman, who is 35 years
of age, has been connected with
farming since he was four years
old. Born in Toronto, the fam-
ily moved to Norfolk County
following the death of his
father. They have specialized in
tobac6o farming and the pro-
duction of Christmas trees.
Taking an active part in com-
munity affairs and farm organ-
ization work, he is, at the
present time, president of the
Charlotteville Township Feder-
ation of Agriculture, and presi-
dent of the Junior Chamber of
Commerce in the town of Sim-
coe.
At the present time he rep-
resents \ Norfolk County as a
committeeman to the Ontario
Wheat Producers Association.
The Ontario Federation of
Agriculture now has a Field
Service Department consisting
of its director, Ray Hergott,
and his staff of six competent
Fieldmen.
Through this field staff, the
Federation is prepared to serve
its membership all across the
length and breadth of this pro-
vince.

Christianity from 1939. In that
year, he entered Bishop's Col,
lege, Calcutta. He was, ordain-
ed Priest in 1943.
Bishop Ray Served as a ear-,
ate in Christ Church, Karachi,
and a missionary in Sind. In
1948, he became secretary for
Pakistan of the British and
Foreign Bible Society,
Boring ,the next eight years,
he completed the translation of
the Old Testament in the Sind,
hi language, revised the New
Testament, and published the
Bible in Sindhi for the first
time. He worked also on the
translation of the Bible into
Gurmukhi and Tibetan langu-
ages.
In 1957, he was consecrated
a bishop and served as assist-
ant bishop of Lahore with re-
sponsibility for Karachi, Sind,
and Baluchistan. In 1962, he
became Bishop of Karachi.

Last Sunday morning at the
St. James' Church, Middleton,
the service of Holy Baptism
was held by the Rector„ the
Rev. E. J. B. Harrison, when
he baptised Shelley Adell, the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don
Middleton, and Charles Robert
James, the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Edward Wise.
The rector gave a fine and
thought provoking discourse to
all parents.
The rector announced that
on Sunday afternoon, Septem-
ber 22 the annual Thanksgiv-
ing service will be held.
