D. J. Lane, Clinton. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Warner Andrews. (Photo by R. J. Nephew) Percy Walden AUBURN — Relatives and friends gathered at the .1. Keith Arthur funeral home on Mon- day at 2 p.m. to pay their final tribute to Percy Walden who passed away after a lingering illness in Clinton Public Hos- pital on Saturday, August 24. He was the son of the late John Walden and Susana Stap- leton and was in his 73rd year. He was born in East Wawan- osh Township and had farmed for many years on a farm in Hullett until he moved to Au- burn this spring. A member of Knox United Church, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. John (Thirza) Caldwell, Blyth and a niece, Miss Viola Thomp- son who has lived with him for many years. Rev, Charles Lewis was in charge of the service and bur- ial took place in ;Union ceme- tery, 13lyth. The pallbearers were Wilfred 131unkett, Bert Daer, Roy Eas- om, Everett Taylor, Kenneth McDougall, Sidney McClinchey. The flower bearers were Ted East, Victor Youngblut, Robert Youngblut and Glenn Young- blut. Relatives were present from London, Wingham, Blyth, God- erich and the surrounding dis- trict. A letter was read .concerning the gift coupon, No. .367 from the FWIC for adult education in Northern Canada, This Na, tional project is to assist the expansion of the WI in the far North and the members voted $10 to buy one coupon,. The secretary also read a letter from the convener of Citizenship but these projects were left over, It was decided to again sponsor the 4-H club, "The Milky Way" and the lead- ers chosen were Miss Jannette Dobie and Miss/Marian Hickey. The WI members will take part in the fall project on desserts and the leaders selected were Mrs. Lloyd Humphreys a n d Mrs, Thomas Lawlor. - The president thanked all Who had assisted with the rec- ent .Wedding dinner and Mrs. Andrew Kirkconnell, convener of the card committee, gave a detailed account and read th- ank you notes for cards of sympathy, get well and baby cards and bootees. Mrs. Chamney conducted an interesting contest on dress materials and the winner was Mrs. Oliver Anderson. A highlight of the afternoon was a demonstration on dress- ing up a relish plate by Mrs. Ed. Davies. She made an at- tractive plate which was very colourful and delicious. The motto, "Whether a fellow ends up with a nest egg or a goose eggs depends on the chick he marries," was given by Mrs. Wes Bradnock. Lunch was ser- ved by Mrs, Robert J.
