Mr. Sandy Lawlor suffered
a stroke last weekend while at
his son's home, Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Lawlor, and was 'taken
to Clinton Public Hospital.

AUBURN — The annual
Straughan reunion was held at
Harbor Park, Goderich, with 85
present. These descendants of
the late George Straughan and
Jane Gates gather annually to
renew friendships and honor
their early ancestors who had
settled in Colborne Township
133 years ago.
They had come from North-
umberland County in England
and settled on the 6th con. of
Colborne and had nine chil-
dren, four boys and five girls.'
The J arrangements for the
supper were made by Mrs.
Grace Evans, Stratford, and
this was served at 5:30 p.m.
Following supper a program of
sports under the direction of
Carl Powell resulted as fol-
lows:
Five and under, Kathleen
Cowan, Kyle Gerrie; 8 and
under, Joanne Williams, Cindy
Evans; 12 and under, Ken Cow-
an, Blair Gerrie; egg throwing
contest, Mrs. Grace Evans and
George Cowan, Mr. and ,Mrs.
John Howatt;• patch sewing con-
test, Mrs, Jim Keen, Mrs. Ben-
son Cowan.
The business portion was
conducted by the president,
Clark Ball and the secretary-
treasurer's report was given by
Mrs. Ben Straughan.
Prizes for the oldest lady pre-
sent went to Mrs. Charles
Straughan; to the oldest man,
William Straughan; to the
youngest child, Susan Williams;
and for the largest family pre-
sent, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wil-
liams.

Mrs. Mabel Scott is spending
three weeks with her son, Ken
and family in Niagara.
Work began on Monday, de-
molishing the old pavement. in
Londesboro village.
Mr. Dave Ewan and Jim
Neilans spent Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs. Peter Malcolm, Sea-
forth.
The Gaunts and the Pen-
founds arrived home last week
having spent the past few
weeks at the West Coast.
Mr. and Mrs. George Gibson,
Murray and Glenice, Wroxeter,
spent Sunday evening with Mrs.
Bert Allen.
Little Sheryl Millson spent
the weekend with her grand-
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert
Shobbrook while her parents
spent a few days in Detroit.
Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Shob-
brook and son Kenneth and
wife, Oshawa, have been visit-
ing friends and relatives in the
vicinity for the past week.
A reception will be held in
the Londesboro Church for Rev.
W. M. and Mrs. Carson on the
evening of August 2 at 8 p.m.
